OES/Great Pyrenees in MO

I happened to visit the local animal shelter today and I was shocked to find "Teddy", a sheepie/Great Pyrenees mix. I am totally in :hearts: love :hearts: !! This guy is awesome! He is HUGE and seems super sweet. Evidently, he was an owner surrender due to divorce and he's currently a matted mess but I was told he would be getting groomed in the very near future. I can't wait to go back and check him out once he's been cleaned up.

This is a kill shelter but I am very confident that he will be taken care of. He has stolen the heart of someone there and has been placed in the "most wanted program". She was actually going to be bringing him home with her to see how he did in a home environment. I let her know that I could help contact OES rescue if needed. Again, he's going to be well taken care of and I think they'll find him a great home BUT if anyone is interested in a BIG sheepie mix....

Boy, glad I'm not going to Sheepiepalooza, I'd have a hard time explaining why we have another dog in the kitchen at feeding time. He is lovely!
I went back and visited Teddy today. I'm even more in love!! He really is a sweetie. He's been shaved down except for his head and a little poof at the end of his tail!

Teddy was hanging out in the directors office rather than being in the dog runs! The director had taken him home and she said he has a few issues. She thinks he must have been kept outside in a pen and has seperation anxiety. She said he followed her around the house and wouldn't leave her side and his nose was on everything she touched. I laughed and said it sounded like a sheepie to me!

Seriously though, not to make light of the situation...I guess he wouldn't even stay outside with the other dogs if she wasn't there. She hadn't tried him in a crate yet but worried about him being destructive if left alone. I can't help but think he would mellow out a little once he knew he was truly safe. I still think he is in good hands and they will work to find him a good home. I would prefer to see him with a fellow oes.org member!! hint, hint....
