Puppies eyes

I have a question about eyes and didnt know where else to post this. For all of you that breed, what color are the puppies eyes when they open for the first time?? Do they change color? My kids and I are having a debate on the subject because most kittens' eyes are blue when born and then change to green, gold or what color they are going to be. Just wondered about oes. I have never seen them when they are first born.

They are a rather indistinct color at birth, but you can tell fairly early on the difference between a blue or brown eye.

This is Bree's blue eye at 16 days of age

Here is the same eye 2 and a half weeks later

Wow! gorgeous eyes.
now we need an example of a new eye that turned brown.......

Bree......what a beautiful girl.
Yes eye colors can change. My morgan had blue eyes when he was a puppy then changed to brown when he was about 2yrs.

I'm not saying this to be funny or upset anyone, but that sounds more like disease.
When they first open there eyes they all have a blueish hue to the eyes, all mine ended up with dark brown eyes when they left the nest. We had one with two blue eyes that I did not realise until much later, I kept looking thinking still has the baby blue hue But Nup wrong there they are now a Cornflower blue and lighter then when first opened. Hubby kept saying the eyes are blue, said to him Nah as we have never had two blue eyes in a litter before. I was wrong, Syd is our blue eyed boy.

First time for everything I suppose

Steve I have never heard of a dog that 2 years later the eye colour changes. Usually by the time they leave the nest at 8-12 weeks old that is their eye colour that they have for life and they do start to look darker as the eye pigment developes around the rims.

No offence taken could have been a disease never thougth to hava them checked because I was not going to breed.have his puppy picture but none of his grownup pics wish I did to show change as I no longer have him
Those blue eyes are gorgeous. Crystal blue. Tangham had one blue and one brown eye. His eyes were beautiful.. Speaking of blue eyes. Was at Walmart monday and saw a sheepie in a van with big blue eyes. Funny hubby saw him first and said theres a sheepie over there and I had to go investigate. The two girls in the van probably thought my daughter and I were weirdos staring at them LOL
