Pet Strollers and Bike Trailers

Has anyone found a really good stroller and/or bike trailer that would accomodate a sheepie?

We're looking for one for Bailey. She wants to go for walks with the rest of us but when we get her outside to walk, she has a hard time as her hips and front leg have started giving her more problems than usual (she's 12 1/2). I won't leave her behind so I stay home with her while Emmett & Sean go out and get exercise. As you can imagine, this is limiting for all of us!

Anyone have experience with either products?

Thanks again!

Those strollers are really tiny since they're usually for lapdogs.
What about a wagon? Or even those things that joggers use to run with their kids? It's like a stroller but a little bigger I think?
I started doing a search for strollers for larger dogs, in the hope that maybe they've started making them. They have gotten larger, and some even hold up to 70 lbs., but they don't adress size.

I started out thinking about a wagon but haven't been able to find one - I would want something comfy and, hopefully, with the fence around it so she doesn't fall out. I'm going to check out toy stores (unless anyone can suggest a better idea - I'm really clueless).

I did find something interesting, although $$$$$$$$ - the PetEgo Sport Wagon and Stroller. It's a bike trailer that converts into a stroller. I'll have to investigate further and will continue searching for a wagon.

What we do for our babies :)

Thanks for the response - I always appreciate them!

We had a two child bike trailer that would have held a sheepie easily. It's weight limit was 150lbs. For the life of me I can't remember the brand as we bought it brand new at a yard sale in Alaska......
This is what Kathy (Donner's Mom) did for him when he was too feeble to walk. You might PM her and see what brand of wagon she used. You can't see it too good in this photo, but it was a wagon and she put a dog bed in it. Seemed to work well for them. :)

Awwww...
this sure made me smile and a bit teary eyed :(
We sure loved that Donner boy!
These pics aren't very helpful but, you get the
idea!
If anybody else is interested we got it at Lowes
in the Garden Center...it is a
"Gorilla Cart"
I wish I had the pics where Marty hooked it up
to the lawn Mower and pulled him around the yard :D

That is soooo sweet.

It's always bittersweet to look at photo's like that. I just lost my dad in Apirl and came home to find out Emmett had cancer, then found a picture of them together and it made me cry for 3 days :(

I will look at Lowes. That looks like the cart I just saw at Home Depot, which makes me more sure that it would work well.

I saw a great jogging stroller that also turned into a bike trailer, but the trailer was $350+ and the kit to turn it into a stroller was another $198. Ouch.

I was just out driving with the dogs (they love car rides) and considered taking a look at actual baby strollers since they fold up so easily. That way when we take a ride to the off leash areas Bailey can still wander around the park with us. (I am officially a crazy old dog lady when I am pushing my dog in a baby carriage. Who cares, I can take it!)

Donner is a very sweet looking guy. I can understand why he is missed so much.

Where do you live??
Maybe Bailey could borrow Donner's wagon.
It is a toy box right now as I would not want
to use it for anything in the yard since my
Dear Donner used to lay in it.
Let me know if you are interested...
Thank you so much for the offer.

Unfortunately, I'm in Milwaukee :(

I'm on-line now looking for the Gorilla. The price of the one I saw at Home Depot wasn't bad at all. If Bailey won't use it, I can use it for gardening.

Did you have to lift Donner into the wagon? I have a retractable ramp for the back stairs if she can't get in herself.

Yes, we did have to lift Donner in.
He was only 70 lbs so, it wasn't too hard!
He loved his little wagon...
I was afraid he would be embarrassed or scared but, he was
happy to be out and about!
Good Luck!
We're going to get one tonight or tomorrow. I'll post a picture (when I figure out how to do that - so far, I've been unsuccessful) of Bailey in her new transport.

Many thanks for all of the help.

Betsy
p.s. love the new tongues and nose icons!
