The principles of clicker training work surprisingly well on many spouses, children etc. Karen Pryor spells it out a bit in her "Don't Shoot The Dog" book. I've seen the concept referenced in other writings. My mother gets quite annoyed when I command her to "sit!", "stay!", but no one else seems to notice much 
Train dogs long enough and these things will slip into your relationships with people 
My last boyfriend - and I do mean last, never again - was pretty untrainable. An excellent clicker trainer himself, though. I tried to surrender him to rescue, but they wouldn't take him...? Kristine |
