Training

Summer hasn't been dog training since way before Easter, due to illness and being in season. So, off they went tonight, hubby thinking of every excuse possible not to go. Summer went through the tunnel, sit, stay, not fetch!, they put small jumps out and she jumped the first and tripped over the second one! The girl then showed hubby how to do the finish, when they sit in front of you and then go round the back, She did it first time! He has been doing this at home with her. Needless to say hubby came home very pleased with himself!

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

The principles of clicker training work surprisingly well on many spouses, children etc. Karen Pryor spells it out a bit in her "Don't Shoot The Dog" book. I've seen the concept referenced in other writings.

My mother gets quite annoyed when I command her to "sit!", "stay!", but no one else seems to notice much :cow:

Train dogs long enough and these things will slip into your relationships with people

My last boyfriend - and I do mean last, never again - was pretty untrainable. An excellent clicker trainer himself, though. I tried to surrender him to rescue, but they wouldn't take him...?
