I want these shoes!

They are Manolo Blahnik's (did I spell that right?) and certainly from a few seasons ago. I would buy them if I knew what store carried them. Jill, Darcy, where do I get these????

Neimans and Barneys both carry them. There are hundreds of listings on eBay too - still not "cheap", but less expensive than retail.

I once walked into a very chi-chi little shoe boutique in Manhattan filled with Manolos. None of the shoes had price tags, bringing me back to the old cliche - if you have to ask, you can't afford them!
I'll stick to my comfy Ugg Boots

It cold here and keeps the tootsies warm :D

I break my freaking neck!
Definitely eBay. But, I'd hit Neiman's first just for a size check to make sure you order your size correctly. I find Manolos to be pretty narrow but maybe it's just me. If you're throwing down that kind of cash, you want to be sure! Unfortunately, like Sue said, even on eBay, you still won't get a heck of a break on the price. Maybe mid $300s instead of $500. Look for people who may have misspelled the name-- that's how I got mine for $80. :)
$500 for shoes 8O 8O 8O
Sorry, all I can think about is the discomfort to my feet as well as my pocketbook!
Carrie Bradshaw eat your heart out!!
those shoe are lovely

hubby bought me a pair of jimmy choos for a wedding pressent i call them my resaurant shoes. 4.5 inch black satin with a crystal oval on the toe. i walk to car, from the car to the table, from the table to the car and back to the house. the thing we women do for fashion.

Zoe, I'm surprised you can walk that far in 4.5 inch heels! I've heard that Manolo's, despite the heel height and pointy toes, are very comfortable. And I love these black shoes because they are so classic. No Barney's in Chicago, but I know there is a Neiman. Maybe I'll use the shoes as an incentive to lose the 35 pounds that have mysteriously appeared on my butt and hips.
i acctually walked all round london in them one evening. they are a very comfy pair but i'm loathed to wear then in case i scuff the satin. but i could not wear them every day. i tend to wear flats i'm 5'10'' but when i do wear heals i go all the way 3inches in the usual.
whats an extra few inches in hieght any way hubby 6' 5'' so no worries there.

See that's the thing--a well-made pair of heels shouldn't be all that painful. That's part of the priciness (sp?) of the shoe. Although I'm with you on the discomfort to the wallet!
I wear sneakers 8)
^^^

I wear flip flops. I have shoes from high school. No kidding.

No need - I always say the higher the shoe the thinner you look - They are beautiful shoes by the way :)

Hmmm, I'd need a 12 inch heel to slim me down :cow:
Stilts would work for me.
Paula, those are gorgeous shoes! I love great looking shoes, but never have been a collector of them. My weakness is purses.

Also, check Nordstroms for them.
I bought "my purse of a lifetime" on vacation. I've never spent more than $80 for a pair of shoes though. These may be my birthday treat to myself. Nordstrom's doesn't seem to carry them.

My horse gets new shoes every 6-8 weeks to the tune of $160. If he can have expensive shoes, so can I!
The shoes are beautiful. If you don't spoil yourself who will? Buy 'em and enjoy 'em!
Paula...when is your birthday?

I remember for my 45th, I bought myself good pearls. My ex had always promised them to me for that birthday, but he was my ex by then. So, I bought them. I was so proud!!! Had to do without stuff for quite awhile, but it was worth it. I still have them and wear them proudly.

GO FOR IT!!!!!
those are some freakin' incredible shoes!!!!! id do exactly what sue and jill said...head over to neimans, try them on to make sure of your size..malonos do tend to run narrow...(which happens to be perfect for me, well, except that i cant afford them...lol) more important than the width is the arch....for example i ADORE via spiga but can wear them due to the arch being really off......i have a beautiful pair of 4'' via spiga sandals that when worn...go to the office, sit at my desk all day, then go home....and i cant WAIT to get them off....but boy do my legs look good in them....lol.....
see I would buy them and then end up wearing flip flops :?
Those heels are GORGEOUS!! I'd try them on first, but by all means, SPLURGE and get them. :D
Haha you girls crack me up, they are beautiful! But it would be torture for my feet, I live in sneakers (or trainers as we call them here) eeek I need to get some shoes soon because I'm going for job interviews- I've not worn shoes since school 14 years ago!!! I think I will go for some flats, those have bought me out in a cold sweat haha
I should've taken a picture of my feet after our trip to Vegas. I got the idea that these new shoes that I brought would be a great idea to wear for a walk down the strip. They were like a 4 inch platform so quite comfortable but, evidently not meant for long distances! I did pretty good until we hit the Palazzo (we were at Planet Hollywood) and then things started getting ugly. By the time I got back to our room, I could barely walk and I had 7 different blisters, including one completely encasing my baby toe.

I took a bath, relaxed and we went out that night and I tried new shoes again (very cute silver stilettos , maybe 3-4 inches). Made it out just fine but I declined the idea of taking a taxi back from Treasure Island since it was a nice night and wanted to walk. What was I? Nuts? I barely made it back that time. I rubbed a huge section of skin off the ball of one of my feet and added two more blisters. It was rough.

I took a video of me peeling all the old blister skin off my baby toe if anyone wants to see it.

And if anyone's wondering, will I do this again? I'm sure I will. I'll let my feet take a serious beating if I like the shoes enough! (and I'll probably video again, too.)
:D Beautiful shoes and sore feet don't mix very well! 8) I wear flats all the time and have always preferred them much to the dismay of my stylish mother, may she rest in peace! I love elegant shoes but have never been able to walk in them!
nice job jill...i would have done the exact same thing...oh, i did! at your wedding....lol.....

You are not alone - I too decided to wear 4 inch stilettos in Las Vegas - we were at the Belliago (sp) and walked to the Wynn for dinner. Bad idea - my husband had to get a taxi to get back--and for the remainder of the trip. The blisters were brutal - - - -and yes - like you, I would wear the shoes again. Maybe this time though I would have a taxi take us anywhere where there was walking involved.
As I said, I'd do it again-- and I did it again today. I just got these little Michael Kors numbers and was very excited to wear them today. I have to walk about 1/4 mile to my building and my the time I got there, blisters abound! I think I can do some manipulating to make them work though. I already have those things in the back to keep from rubbing but I'm wondering if those may be what caused the blisters!

I'm finishing out the day with them. I'm convincing myself that they just need breaking in!
ooh, those are CUTE!

There used to be a Barney's on Oak St, walking distance from the Neimans. I just checked on the Barney's website, it's still there - 25 E Oak St. On your way to Barneys you can always stop by the Stuart Weitzman store on Michigan Avenue - another home for fabulous shoes.

Neimans has clearance stores, but there isn't one in IL: http://www.nmlastcallclearancecenter.com/
I've gotten a few great pairs of shoes at the Nordstrom Rack stores - as you mentioned, they don't sell Manolos but they do sell Weitzman and Ferragamo.

I love heels. I wear them all the time. Just like flat shoes, there are comfortable heels and kill-your-feet heels. You just have to walk around the store in them for a while to see if they're going to be your friends or your enemies.

I'm made so many enemies over the years...
jill those are HOT!!!! i bought some stuff on the bandaide isle that you put on your feet where blisters usually form....i used it in hawaii and it actually worked really really well!!!

also, i carry waterproof bandaides with me (the stay on longer and are clear)......
I found them on the Neiman site, and there is a N-M in Oakbrook so I'll be going there. On the website, it says the shoes are backordered until OCTOBER!!! 8O But I don't know if that means b-o'ed on the website alone or if I go to the store they will be there. I can't picture a Barney's on Oak St.--Oak St. isn't very big and Barney's is a dept. store.

I will probably not get them until summer at the earliest. I have a contract with myself about weight loss and the shoes are the big prize.......
Paula O. wrote:

It's not a full sized department store, more of a large boutique. Clothes, makeup, accessories and a very small housewares display, at least the last time I was there. South side of the street, just east of Rush Street. But if you can buy them without going downtown, that's better for you.
Those are ADORABLE!I once bought a MK purse. It was great looking. When I got it home, it was HUGE! It didn't look that big in the store! I've only used it once, because of its size.

But...its still great looking!
Jill those heels are adorable!! Never mind the blisters, they'll go away.

Darcy - what is the name of that stuff you used?

Paula, I like the idea of using the shoes as a prize when you lose the weight. Very good way to reward yourself! Now....where are you going to wear them and what does the dress look like???
No dress to go with. I actually will wear them to work. That's what I love about them--totally classic and can wear with anything.

They are classics. You can wear them for years and years to come!

Tammy, I'm using it right now, lol. Don't get too excited! It provides a little extra grip but it's no miracle worker, hence, all my blisters!

Deb, I love a GIANT bag. How big is it? Wanna sell it? Let's see some pics!
Its similiar to this:
http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/p ... Large_Tote

But a bit different. When I get home from KW, if you are interested, I will send you a picture.
Oh...my had a darker leather trim.
Is it straw/wicker? I really, really want a wicker one! In fact, I've been wanting that very one you put the link for! Definitely take a pic when you return! If it's similar and the price is right, we may well have a deal!
Yes, its straw with a darker brown leather and gold/brass appointments. Its really gorgeous, BUT HUGE! I've literallly used it once. Took it to dinner, and couldn't figure out what to do with it! It almost didn't fit under my chair.

BUT MEEEeeeeeeeeeee :D :D :D :D
Boy's just dont understand, you dont have to wear them...
Thay just look nice :D
Ohhh and he gets the right hump having to move them every time we move house..
With our job it's been 7 times in the last 5 years ...
I'll still stick too Ugg Boots in Winter and Thongs (Flip Flops) in summer and my runners.

Last time I wore heels was at a wedding, paid a fortune for them, absolutely gorgeous, only wore them that one time, killed my feet, so high thought I was going to have a nose bleed LOL and left the wedding barefooted and in agony. :P
