I rescued a pup tonight

Rick & I just rescued our first sheepdog tonight :!: What a cutie he is , his name is Dilly and he is so sweet and gentle. We are going to bathe him tommorrow, he is hardly matted at all. Hopefully he will be going to a new home this weekend :D I contacted a few people in rescue and they said they would try and help me out. If not I guess he will be a guest for awhile. If rescue does not work out, and someone is interested contact me.

Good for you! How did you find Dilly?
He found me :!: A friend of mine barrel races and was at a show this past weekend, one of the ladies up there was telling her that a lady asked her to take this OES pup for her friend who had breast cancer. The lady who talked to my friend is also an animal control officer & owns a pet store. She asked my friend if there was anyone she knew who might be interested in him. The lady was going to run an ad in her local paper, but I called and she had the ad pulled, so we drove a little over an hour away and picked him up :D She had also called the animal shelter she deals with, but there was no room for him. She said he is about 10 mos. old. She is going to try to get his paperwork for me, he looks older to me.
It's wonderful that you were able to take him. Someone gave us Phoebe when she was 4 1/2 years old. It was like she found us, too.
Thank you for rescuing him!
I am looking forward to seeing pics. :D
Good for you!

I wish animal controls would keep a notebook with breed rescue contacts. The local humane assoication here does and the city shelters......used to. City said they would no longer since they wanted the public to have first chance at the animals.........more like it's a $$ issue. Humane does a better job.
Have you called Madeline Erickson? She always seems to have someone waiting. If you need her info, let me know.
Good work! I'm sure rescue will be willing to work with you to get the dog placed. Particularly since you're obviously willing to foster him!
I have already contacted Madeline, her and I are working on things. :D
What wonderful news. :D
Thank you for giving this boy a safe place to stay until he finds his home.
Hats off to you for rescuing this boy - And you couldn't be working with a better person than Madeline Erickson. She brought my Loki Bear to me, and when he began to have a few health problems she was right there to walk me through it. Her suggestions and guidance (and the folks here on the forum too!) have been an invaluable help - I feel like he belongs to everybody, not just me!
