Shave Down Times

How many times a year do you shave down your OES?

Chewie - just the once partially to lose the puppy coat. After he is done showing??? We'll see.

With Ollie, we clipped him 2-3 times a year, as needed. After a short stint at showing, he turned into the greatest dog working on our farm. We went with practical. :D
Morgan we shave twice a year to make him comfortable. Marley is in full (although today very ratty  ) coat.
I shaved Guinness once (well about 1/2 in) it was not pretty ha has about 5 in of hair now but a shorter cut is looking better but I don't think I will shave.. My first OES I shaved every 6 mo spring and fall
I shave Pepsi 4 to 5 times a year, he prefers short hair and looks good with it.
Rags get shaved 2 to 3 times during the hot months and gets grown out for the winter.
Tonks and Luna are both a little over 6 months old. I love how thier coats are growing in; they look so pretty! But they are also begining to get those annoying little mats, and I brush them at least every other day.

I am considering giving them a shave-down. One because people here keep saying that it will help with the transition to the next coat (less of those little mats; yay!) and because the Atlanta summers can be brutally warm, and our little bungalow is hard to keep cool in the dead of summer....

If you can't keep it cool I would shave. My dogs were hot yesterday when it was 70 in NY and only one is in a full coat!
For the dogs not in show coat it is easier to shave them a couple of times a year, so usually spring and early fall. That gives them enough time to have a couple of inches of coat before snow flies.
i shave panda every 5-6 weeks in the summer then stop in october till march.....then the process starts allllll over again :D
I've had Halo shaved only once and I don't believe I'll have it done again. I miss her coat! I can't wait for it to grow out a few inches!
We shave Barney a few times a year. Definitely before the summer and probably once during the summer and maybe another time here or there. It's mostly when he gets too shaggy and we get too busy to properly brush him out as often as necessary.
