How much are you trying to lose?

How much are you trying to lose and how are you doing w/it?

I start the day off so determined but the second the cheesecake gets out of the oven, I only concentrate on what reason I will give myself to justify cutting a slice made for 4. Dieting to me means eating something more reasonable like 4 slices of pizza instead the WHOLE thing, but it feels so dang painful. The other slices looks so lonely, as I always tell my husband. It's horrible.

Anyway, 7 more lbs to lose, and I've been here for quite some time. I still do 500 crunches, and I try to do push ups, but I've been forgetting lately. Not forgetting... just hate to do them. I also run for 20-30 min. when I can.

I hate those of you not dieting.

25 lbs

still trying to figure out how........
Jo--maybe if you stop making ALL THAT YUMMY FOOD all the time, it'd be easier to do!!

I have no idea how much weight I'll need to lose. If my baby weighs say, 6 pounds, then I should have about 20 to lose, which I'll just do by eating my normal way--lots of veggies, good carbs but keep an eye on the amount, not so much in the way of sweets, and keep portions under control. We'll see how it goes when it actually happens!

I think I sense the problem...........

How about, not making the cheesecake in the first place? 8O Just a thought.

I have a whole heck of a lot more than 7 lbs to lose though. :P

I have a great circuit on the stability ball with some hand weights, and I jog. I just started though. Like 10 days ago.
But I feel so tortured w/o my sweets. I want a great bod AND eat everything. :? wish I had something that doubled the size of my portions but not the calories. My entire family (my side) just has portion control problems.

Here's an example of how my family (my side) is.

Mom was over and we said we were going to have a small snack since we were eat dinner in a few hours. Husband said "how about some chex mix?" My mom and him grab their own bowls. Husband grabs what he says is a bowl full. So does my mom. Husband nudges me to look at my mom's bowl. It's overflowing (I'll guess about 4Cs worth - was a cereal bowl). I joke and say "You hardly got some mom."
She says, "I know... I'm dieting."
Except she has no idea that I'm making fun of her, and she is truly being sincere. Normally, she'd have 2 overflowing bowls full, while my husbands ideal of a bowl full is how ever many he can fit in a big handful.

This is how my side of the family is for each meal and even if we just went out to eat at a buffet, they HAVE to come home to eat dessert or are starving. my mom is 5'8 135. dad is 6' ...guessing from last time i remember 170lbs

My husband has helped me cut down on my food, but as soon as he leaves for work, I start storing food in my cheeks again.
See, its a hibernation thing up there, lol. I had lost all my baby weight and was down to 117, moved to alaska and gained 25 or so, and I hadn't changed anything, just moved, still walked and cooked and ate like normal. Now the weight just won't go away. Well, its going slowly now. I would like to lose twenty, but my body hates me now, lol. I completely quit drinking coke at first, then I cut out the big offender, my absolute favorite, SWEET TEA! Now its crystal light and water. I drink a lot, always have. I walk every day and don't eat a lot, but then again, I never have. Alaska is just evil...
I could stand to loose a lot!
I always could eat what I want and was very active. I guess I got spoiled.
After about 35 it gradually started to gang up. Now I really need to loose..

LeAnne and I walk miles (with ankle weights - try it!!) and I am really busy. I can imagine how bad I would be if I had a office job. Yuck!

Munchies are my downfall. Also, working nights and rotating shifts has been bad. Most of the weight came on after I started the weird shifts.
:( :( :( More than you could possibly imagine. :( :( :(
About 35 lbs. I have been walking, dancing, working on
a few home projects.

Started to follow the Clean Eating way of nutrition and
felt better. The recipes are easy and there is no junk.

Above is the site to the magazine.

Feeling better, and close fit better.

Then this week, one of my best friends died suddenly.
My Dad also went in for surgery.

My approach of goodness dissolved into stopping at
Dunkin Donuts 3 times this week and getting my Boston
Cream donut fix. Naughty/Naughty/Naughty

I am back to being an angel this weekend, so salad and fish dinner
tonight.

Jo, try T-Tapp it really works when you are trying to stay on course.

i need to live in the gym for a month...then ill be back to normal weight!

20 lbs to lose? oh my! how much do I have to lose if my baby weighed 12 pounds at birth, my youngest was almost 12lbs and my oldest was 9 1/2lbs..

I just decided to LOVE MY CURVES !!
I think the question should be "How Much are you trying not to put back on?"

Rapid weight loss and dinner out with the girls Ooooooh. Now I wonder how long before I put back on what dropped off me after the litter.

Great to be back in some of my clothes that have not fitted for quite awhile  Now wondering how long before they go back to the back of the wardrobe again. :lmt:

Nearly winter here and getting cold AND I do enjoy that winter comfort food
I'm DOWN TWO MORE!! So I guess the key is eating 4 cinnamon rolls a day. When I lose weight eating something, I tend to keep making that item b/c it must be lower in calories than the snacks I was previously taking in. At least that's my thinking. However I can keep enjoying myself and still lose weight (as I also clog my arteries).
Okay, I need to lose about 60 to 75 pounds! With that being said I started the DASH program to work on getting some other numbers down. My tryglicerids, my colesterol and my BP. I hope along with healthy eating and activity, my weight will go down. At 50+ years of age, it's becomes more than how your clothes fit and what the scale says. It becomes about your health.

If I could tell the younger me something to live by, it would have been develop and stick with healthy eating, and excercise habits. Do some activity you enjoy each and every day, swim, or walk or dance. Make both a habit that you live by each day, then you will not have to face getting fit at a 50, you will already be there and with good habits to boot.

I have to make this my job now. I have to plan it and live it each day and it's not so easy, but it's now my mission.
I went from not being able to lose for over a month to losing 5lbs in 10 days. I've done nothing different but eat, eat, eat along with my normal routine of doing crunches and pushups every time I go pee from the time I wake up until mr. j comes home daily. I'm so excited!

Dr is checking my thyroid and getting blood tests done for lupus but I think they're routine since I really just came in to see if I have rheumatoid arthritis. What's crazy is they want me to go to Seattle or Cali (they pay for it) to see a specialist b/c there isn't one here in AK. Arthritis is SO common that I'm shocked there's no one here!!! Either way, w/Mr. J going to TX for a month in June and then the field the month of July ...I don't have time to go. Oh well. I'll be fine for now.
Hmmm... Let's just say I have a LOT to lose. A LOT. That's part of the reason why I wanted a dog- to force me to get out and walk, which I do every day now and have lost 10 pounds in a week and a half. I'm not walking far, but the fact that I am walking at all is a big start for me.

I have always been overweight and am hoping doing things with Max will improve my health.

Lally
well, i weighed myself yesterday....i have lost 10 lbs...im down to 119...only 9 more to go!!!!!!

ive just been cutting my meals in half...so half of a sandwich instead of whole...and half of a portion that i used to eat....dang it, those summer clothes WILL fit!
^^

you've got so much will power then. NO WAY I could do that, and I'm dying to fit into cute stuff!
L, my motivation is my identical twin who happens to be way thinner than me right now...especially since she went home with half of my summer clothes that dont fit.....she ''promises'' to send them back once i lose the weight.....

Rheumatoid arthritis? I hope you don't have it. My mom has RA, and it is so difficult to see her go through the pains of everyday tasks.
I'm sorry for your mom. I got told by a specialist I saw at Walter Reed when I was 18 that it's one of the worst to have, "but" to expect it after looking at my fingers ...and she is ranked the best military dr out there (so I was told). I'm crossing my fingers (ever so softly) that I don't either! People are grossed out when i show them my fingers. They're all messed up. Maybe I'll end up in Kansas City and will show you (freaks people out).

Wow, that's quite a drop.
