I thought this might be the right place to look for a new home for our male OES.

Sadly, we are needing to part with our almost 3 year old male sheepdog. Our health is making it very difficult to provide the best home for him. He is neutered and well-groomed (if I do say so myself). Very Happy

He does have some food allergies (wheat, beef, lamb), but his food is not too terribly expensive. He is very easy to groom and thrives on the attention. He needs to be an only dog. A cat or two, who are not afraid of dogs, would be fine. Possibly a small dog, but not recommended. He loves people...a guard dog he is not! He, of course, wants to be the center of everything!

Please let me know if you are interested in my 100lb lapdog!!
PS...We are trying to avoid putting him into rescue. We love him and want to know where he is going and that he is happy!

Yes, that is his picture. Our handsome stuffed animal that barks!
I'm sorry for your health problems.

Of course you know that rescue might be the best way for your pup (what's his name?) to be placed. A good rescue will have pre-screened homes and will try to match your dog's needs with the home's experience and abilities, and they will have and enforce a "return only to us" policy once taking responsibility for your guy.

Sometimes it's harder to know where your dog is than trusting rescue to make the right decisions.

I wish you luck in rehoming him if you're determined to do it on your own, we're here to help.
I am the Baltimore contact for the New England Old English Sheepdog rescue. If you are interested in the NEOESR finding a new home for your sheepie, please contact our placement director, Annie Raker at www.neoesr.org. If you two agree that we can help you, Annie will contact me or another volunteer in the area and we will pick up your dog and foster it until a suitable home is found.
I hope you find the perfect home for Teddy...he's adorable!
Sorry you have to rehome him. If you do not go through rescue, please get a vet reference and personel references and do a home visit. He is adorable.
What area of MD are you from?............Kathy
northwest of Baltimore
We're in western MD. Is he dog aggressive?
with other dogs that he lives with...especially when resources are involved.
