Mosquitoes in the snow...

....kinda like "Gorillas in the Mist", only itchier.

I havnt written a thing on here for ages, (the migraines-from-hell are still a daily problem :( ) But I just felt the need the whine about this....

Its April 25th....the first few mosquitoes of summer are buzzing around my living room....and we are in the midst of a white-out blizzard. Weve gotten at least a foot of snow here at my house over the last 24 hours.

This is SO unfair

I know how rotten migraines can be. So sorry :(

Time to shoo those skeeters out the door so
mother nature can take care of them.
We've been wondering about you as well esp. since we've been talking about going to some summer fairs!

I didn't want to hear about the mosquitoes being out :( I hate them and w/no A/C, we always have the balcony door wide open.
Good to hear from you Laurel!!Sorry about the mosquitoes and the migraine!
I HATE mosquitoes!!!

glad to see that youre still around..migraine and all...

xoxoxo, me
Laurel, I was hoping you would be doing better by now. :(
I'm sorry to hear you are still having the headaches and now EVIL mosquitos  .

I hope they both go away!!
Laurel is was great to hear from you! I am so sorry you are still suffering from that migraine and now a masquito to boot.

That crazy Alaska weather....no wonder they have to pay people to live there. lol

Get better soon!
Hey Laurel!!! Welcome back...... :D :D :D

We had a mosquito in the house last week, as well as a fly or too.
We got the snow last night and this am - but only a few inches. Just enough to cover my new almost-green grass.
Wonderful to see you again Raven!!!

Urg! That is so unfair...mosquitoes and snow...nope..too cruel!

Hope you're feeling better soon and those nasty headaches get better as you're missed around here!

Hugs from me
Marianne

too funny
Hi Laurel, sure hope you feel better soon you are missed and mosquitoes and snow .. how unfair :x
Mosquitos and snow... that is weird. Weirder than TX weather. :P

Maybe they'll all freeze to death? I hope your migraines get better too. :(
goodness.........has had to have been warm enough for mosquitoes to bred somewhere......

are you sure they aren't drain gnats or other misc stuff that breeds in the house drains? PineSol does wonders for them. If truly from outside coming in, I'd also look to soil related gnats that live on organic matter...of which I'm sure you have plenty rotting stuff.
Oh. I thought that might be the title of your new piece :( I expected to see a lovely pic of your artwork haha.

Glad to see you on here again- hope you feel better soon!

:ghug:
My hubby couldnt believe that they could go out for training in the dead of winter (-40) and set up tents and the mosquitos would come up out of the ground as the snow melted under the tent. Then the tent would be full of skeeters, lol. You'd think they'd put a floor in some of those tents, lol. We were always told that a good freeze would kill them off. Someone lied! I feel your pain about the migraines, I inherited them from my grandmother....and I'm too stubborn to go to the dr and get something for them. I just curl up and try not to die, lol. Hope you feel better soon!
Laurel - sorry you're still not feeling well. We miss you around here.

Well, bummer! You gotta be tough to live in Alaska!
We went to the zoo this weekend w/our new double stroller (which is awesome though no one cares) ...and I got bit a few times. I hate that they love me! Try pushing a stroller over rocks and 3-6 inches of snow that hadn't melted on the path. I lost 3lbs by the time we got back. Seriously. We did get an awesome video of the bears playing. They're so pretty!
Well the good thing about that kind of weather (warm to freezing) is that the bugs come out, and then die. That means a much lower risk of heartworm or other mosquito related problems.
We've had the same sort of thing here, a really hot week, bugs all over the place, and then below freezing again this week and possible snow tomorrow....
I thought about calling you Laruel to say this in person. HA HA For those who don't know, mosquetoes do not bite me. Good news is that the snow is almost gone again. :yay: :clappurple: :cheer:
