Which Fruits and Veggies?

Please tell me which fruits and veggies are okay for dogs to eat...are there any that are poisonous?

We need to find some other treat options for Fozzie. If the Eagle Pack Holistic food works for him, we definitely need to stay away from all those treats out there. Pet Supplies Plus didn't have compatibe treats. Luckily so far Fozzie is in LOVE with ice cubes. I thought this fascination would wear off, but it hasn't which is nice. Thanks!

Izzie likes baby carrots and broccoli the best. Broccoli can get messy, though. She likes to toss it around like a little tiny ball and usually gets parts of the floret in the carpet
Should the veggies be cooked? I gave Annie a baby carrot once and she walked around all night panting like she had it stuck in her throat
We feed both raw and cooked but start slow so you don't have any tummy
upsets. Green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, summer squash, lettuce.
We stay way from the sugar/starch veggies because of allergy/yeast problems
in the pack.
You may want to check out Avoderm lamb and rice biskits. They don't have any chicken, beef, corn, soy, wheat, egg or dairy. I don't know what the allergies are too in your house, but those are all the things we avoid.

Bella loves baby carrots...Nigel isn't sure what to do with them.
We were doing the raw diet with Mojo for quite awhile. Through my research I found that dogs do not digest raw veggies very well. The problem is that they pass through the system before they can be broken down enough to absorb the nutrients. If you are looking for using them just as a treat it's ok to give pieces of veggies. If you are wanting to supplement the diet, then they need to be pureed. Mojo's mix included squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, broccoli, apples, bananas and spinach.

I don't know what kind of foods you are having to avoid but I was thrilled to find VitaLife Chicken Chips. The only ingredient is chicken!!!!! It is rare to find something that doesn't have other things added.
Bella is allergic to chicken. :(
My boys LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOVE raw green beans.
My 3 LOVE LOVE LOVE Baby Carrots! Raw
My girls love baby carrots, string beans, apples, bananas, oranges and most fruit or vegs Mommy is eating. lol
Bella loves baby carrots too!!!
I'm getting hungry :P

Thanks for posting these, I always wondered but never thought to ask
Barney loves carrots and apples and bananas. I'm sure he'd love other things, but those are the only things I've given him. Since we're trying to figure out his allergies, the vet said to cut out all treats except carrots.

I know that raisins and grapes and onions and garlic you should not give your dog. Other than that, I'm not sure...
Carrots were one of Beebles' favorites that we had to give up
She'd take a long carrot & eat it like corn on the cob
Now when I cook carrots for the uprights,
I have to hide them from those big brown eyes
Carrots have a lot of sugar
Our enemy >>>yeast feeds and thrives
on starches & sugars

George likes most veg but they have to be cooked though he will eat raw carrot and turnip.

He loves apples and he used to like bananas but he doesn't now :?
Us too---we have carrot time everyday after lunch!
Mine also love blueberries but, they dont last very long.
I have made treats with apples, blueberries, oatmeal and yogurt!~
They LOVE those.
I know my guys love bananas and apples, but oranges are a recent addition in the house. I've finally started eating them again and shared a piece with Foz. He LOVES them...I just gave Annie one to try and she spit it out  More for Foz.
It's funny at my house the boys lick their chops in anticipation - not for a juicy bone (you'd think it was however!) but for carrots!

Each gets a carrot most days and gnaw on it to their hearts content . It's true it doesn't digest well as I find orange colored flecked poo in my yard but overall not a problem as it's good for their dental health too.

I also slice apples (apple seeds are poisonous to most animals so should always be removed)

Having so many bunnies as well, I purchase 40 pound bags of either carrots or apples.

Today, I sliced celery, they should be sliced small, and the string removed as the "strings" may catch in their throats. (Even for bunnies and guinea pigs).
I don't normally give out celery so this morning, Blue spit his out but Merlin and Panda loved it. Once Blue heard them chewing the tasty tidbit - he ate his.

That's the good thing about having a multi-pet household as sometimes one might not like it - they see the others enjoying it and think "Hey I want some of that!". :D

Raisins are poisonous to dogs so should be avoided but cranberries and blueberries are okay.

Overall they always get carrots and apples over most veggies.

I cook other beta carotene veggies and throw them in a liver stew for them occasionally. Sigh yah I know yucky but you wouldn't believe how the years melt off Blue when he smells it cooking in the kitchen...his favorite!
