Guess what Deb, we are going to a restaurant for our Sedar. 8)

There is a restaurant in Irvine, CA that is having a Sedar.
My mom's best friend Judy died last week. :( Judy and her husband have been with us for the holidays for the last 6 years. So Mom is not up to having a Sedar at her house.

I really hope this is a short Sedar!!! lol

Happy Passover to you and Family and to our OES.org friends that celebrate.
Happy Pesach! We're supposed to go to my cousin's on Sun night, but Steve and I have been very sick :( He had the official influenza virus and I have some infection thing.
Oh I'm so sorry about your mom's friend. Is the restaurant going to have real sedar (with a service), or just serve sedareque food?

We're going to my cousin Margie's. It will be our last sedar together, since she is moving to Settle, and my Aunt and Uncle who are going to be there, are moving to New York. Its pretty sad. We get to act as the "Pace" bus and pick up my aunt and uncle (since they are in their late 80's) and my 94 year old step mom. Tony is just thrilled (she said sarcasticlly!) I asked Margie to do an abridged sedar, since they are all so old!

Stacy, I'm so sorry you and Steve aren't feeling well. Hope you get better fast! The chicken soup will help, ya know!

Thanks.
I just called my sister to ask and she thinks the restaurant just has sedaresque food. Thank G-D!!! I do not think I could handle a full sedar anyway.

Stacy, I hope you and Steve feel better!!
I was going to have a seder here...but all but one of us have been sick. No seder for me this year. I plan to have one next year hopefully...tired of this flu thing. My husband has been sick for over a week.
Thanks for the get well wishes! Wendy, I hope you guys get better soon too! And I thought it was just because of the Chicago weather
I'm thinkin' since Margie and the "oldies" are leaving the area soon, next year will be my turn to have the Sedar. Kids will be done with school. My daughter will be here in Chicago, I (sob sob!) think my son is moving to California (so Elissa, he's comin' to your house!). My daughter will have to learn from me next year.

All that aside...Happy Passover...next year in Jerusalem! Shalom, my friends, who have become family. Shalom!
He could come here next year...but I don't have a solar heated pool...just hot weather and sheepies.

Hope you feel better too Stacy...I am making matzo ball soup for dinner...Jewish pennicillin.
Your son would be very welcome with my family.
We seem to adopt the people that don't have families near by, so he would fit in just great.
Happy Passover to everyone !

We are going out to a restaurant for lunch.

I'm making Matzo ball soup tonight . Keeping it simple,
and will try a few vegetarian holiday recipes tomorrow.

Have a wonderful holiday with family and friends.
Deb, no disrespect for Passover.....not from me who was part of the tiny gentile minority in school....but I couldn't let your comment pass:

Yes, you must drink your wine because:

Quote:
To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine.. and those who don't.As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria. In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop. However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.Remember: Water = Poop Wine = HealthTherefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of s***.

So drink hardy my friends!
Won't be doing the restaurant thing again.
The food was okay, but none of the restaurant staff seemed aware of what today was. We even had a waitress bring us a loaf of Rye Bread.
I couldn't help but laugh.
The Brisket was good, but it wasn't Mom's Brisket (which happens to be the only food she can cook).

Ha ha no disrespect taken! I wholeheardly agree!!! And yes, I did make the sacrifice to drink all of my wine last night. Actually, before dinner, we had champagne and chopped liver (OH! how I love my cousin Margie!)

Elissa, I never like holidays in restaurants. There is something very cold about it. I think "house cooking smells" are as much a part of the holiday and the meaning of the holiday.

Next year...come here!
