A mix of some sort in NC

HI guys
I was contacted by a local group about a possible OES...she is not OES but, simply smashing!
I am sure she would be a cutie with hair!(she is a cutie without)
Big ears and all!
She is at animal control and safe for now but, I am not sure how long she has!
I did pick up an OES/Collie mix from the same area who looks alot like her, outside of Daphne was grey and white!
If anybody is interested please let me know!

Thanks
Kathy

I also forgot to add that I have better pics where you can see he pretty face but, I dont know how to post them!!!
how old is she? any more info on her
All I know is what is on Petfinder, I can call today and get more info.
This shelter is about 30 mins from me.
I called and the shelter folks were super nice!
They said she is super sweet around 70lbs.
They do not hw test until after she is adopted, when she is also spayed.
That is about all I found out, I am waiting to hear from some other folks that took the pics.
If anybody is interested I can go meet her.
Thanks
Kathy,
She sure is adorable!
Hoping someone will adopt her.
I am posting photos for you.

how can you not love those ears. :D
Jeez... she is a lovely girl.
What personality she has
in that beautiful face. :hearts:
Thanks for putting those up Sue....someday I will figure that out
Yeah right, my computer skills are very limited...
The other lady that went to take these pics said they took her in a room to get the pics and she was wonderful. Kelly said she looked like she was waiting on her family to come and get her.
I am going to start contacting shaggy dog rescues, she looks like a collie/oes that I had before who was found shaved as well :?
Daphne was beautiful when her hair grew back!
I hope somebody can take her, I am certainly available to pull and help transport.
Thanks
We still need help with this sweet girl.
Any ideas?
Arielle still needs a home!
I went to meet her today!
She is a super sweetie.
I didn't have alot of time with her since I arrived close to closing.
She appears to be around the 2-3 y/o range.
You could never meet a sweeter gal...
Long story short I am picking her up on Saturday.
She will be boarding at my vet until we find a place for her.
Anybody interested in a mixie gal?
Now I have spilled the beans---
Wasnt thinking because, I haven't told Marty yet!

LOL - until he logs on........

She is adorable - and I would have done the same thing!
I have a feeling he knows, he knows me too well!
She is a doll!
Kathy,

What is she?? Breed wise now that you have met her in person :D does she like other dogs ?? She is soooo cute

C
I honestly can not tell what she is.
I have an appointment on Wednesday for her spay hopefully at the vets they can take a guess.
She seems to be fairly young, maybe 2 to 3 y/o.
I haven't had her around other dogs yet but, I bet that won't be a problem as sweet as she is. She was in her puppy play bow most of the time I was with her....
I hope she can find a home FAST, she is a lovey!
I will get more pics as soon as I give her a good bath!
I am going to guess and say part Briard...

Hope she finds a great home soon.. she has such a sweet face.
Words out, I told Marty he is going with me to pick her up...
He is such a sap, don't let him fool ya!
Updates in a few days when we get the lil Pancake!
Kathy you are the best!!!!

Much love to you both and also
to your new charge "Pancake". :D
:D Oh Kathy you are the best
Marty too
Thanks for saving this little girl
Gosh I just love lil Pancake :hearts:
Diane
Everybody keep in mind please that she does need a furever home!!!
I am getting excited :D
Can everyone share some guesses as to what breed she might?
Maybe if she can be listed on Petfinder under some different breeds
(but the right ones!) maybe she'll find a home faster.
I just don't think "Pancake" or "Pixie" is a breed

Nancy had wondered about an Afghan... I can kind of see that!
Like Brenda, I too had wondered about a Briard- especially with those ears.
But then someone said Wolfhound... I can kinda see that too.

Any other ideas?

Is she going to have to be boarded Kathy?
guesses i have gotten from others are labradoodle & irish wolfhound.
My plan tomorrow is to board her...our INN is FULL of dogs!
Luckily I work where she will be boarding
She will certainly make somebody a nice friend!!!
Updates to follow tomorrow
Thanks to all of you who are working and donating for her care

Please cross paws that she is HW negative!
Good luck today!
Lots of fingers and paws are crossed here for a hw- test.
Well, we have little Arielle.
She is a doll!
We didn't take her into board as we have to get her hair done and bathe her!
She does not like the crate-----
She is sleeping now in the bedroom with Marty, she is ready to establish her princess status!
We did not really put her with the other dogs here on day one. I am not sure she is thrilled with them but, she was in a win or lose situation at animal control!
Not saying anything bad about animal control...they were awesome and it is not an easy job.
Brunswick County AC in NC has a wonderful group of people!
So, anyway our lil gal is safe!
Looking for her furever home!
Thanks to all
Little Pancake is off to the vet tomorrow!
She is doing wonderful---we are giving her the few days to get her anxiety out fom being in AC...she is still not with the other dogs but, is not seeming to mind the scent of them as much!
No more barky, whiney fits....not saying we are in the clear but, she is much improved in just 4 days!
I am so thrilled for this little gal!
Thanks guys
Cross your paws that tomorrow she has a negative heartworm test!
Kathy
:( We will be starting Heartworm treatment in the next couple of weeks.
She is still a happy girl and hopefully the treatment won't be too painful for her.

Oh no :(
Have you been through this kind of treatment with a dog before?

I can send a small donation for her treatment.
If anyone would like to donate to Pancake's care, please
visit the Carolina's OES Rescue home page and look for
the PayPal button near the bottom of the page...

Thanks Jaci!
You are the best :hearts:
Sadly enough I have had 3 other foster dogs that have had heartworms.
They are so painful after the injections it is heartbreaking but, she is so young that she deserves to have many more years heartworm free in a furever home.
I cringe when I hear about dogs having this preventable disease. :(

Do you have to keep them quiet... so they don't throw
a clot or have an embolism or something like that?

I know that Pancake is in the best of hands.
Thanks for saving her Kathy.
I don't believe she would have made it otherwise.

You know... there are just SOME names that make you smile.
Pancake and Marbles are two of my favorites :D
They have to be on limited activity, leash walked.
If over stimulated the heartworms can break off and
go into their lungs. (I think I have that right)
They usually are too sore to do much anyway.
(not to mention I keep them on some pretty good pain meds the first few days)

I wonder if Ron remembers why I changed her name to "Pancake"???
Marty calls her "AJ" for short....
Aunt Jemima Pancake!
Oh that is SO funny.
"Aunt Jemima" was the first thing out of Jim's
mouth when I mentioned Pancake's name.
Must be a guy thing
Maybe I should get her a red bandana to hold those ears down!!
Here's wishing for a quick and speedy recovery for her.
-Kory
Kathy,

I am sorry to hear Pancake hhas HW. They do feel lousy. I may have missed something was she high HV +??? Good thoughts headed your way. Do you need help with the cost???

Cindy
Thanks Cindy
I didnt ask about the result being strong....I should have but, we are going to blood work and I always add on another heartworm test with it!
Antech has a more accurate test so we shall see.
Somehow I knew she would be positive, just my luck!
Oh well, sad for Pancake but, happy we can help her.
I called the shelter today to give them an update and I think they might of thought I wanted to return her.
Shoot No---Little AJ Pancake will be fine
Thanks for thinking of the girl!
