Crate Size

As of this moment Cassie is 22in, and her crate is 26in. She fits in there now, she sleeps good, not all bunched up. Though I am worried about her growing. As she gets bigger I know I will have to replace this crate with one of a larger size, but how much of a bigger crate should I get? This one is considered Large by the size on the box, should I just go ahead and get a huge one, just to be safe?

I went from Puppy crate to xlarge for my guys - but I think their puppy cratees were larger than the one you describe to begin with.
I went from the puppy crate to the largest size made. They come with a wire divider which you can adjust as they grow so you don't give them too much room too soon.

It looks like this and it folds down without the use of tools - basically it's all one piece with the exception of the tray in the bottom. I have one with one door and one with two doors. I don't really use the second door on the one that has it, but that's just because of the way the room is set up. They come both ways - whichever is your preference. I have the 48" size and even my big boy Beaureguard has enough room.

The crate I have now is made the same way as the one in the link you posted. At the time I went to purchase the crate, this one was the largest one they had at the time, I dont think it is gonna last too much longer!
You're always safer with bigger if you have the room since you can use the divider. I crate trained but I don't use mine anymore but I've lent my giant one to people with everything from a Cocker Spaniel to a Rottweiler. Now it's back with my mom and her OES so I definitely got my money's worth!
Go for the biggest possible, your baby will be full size before you know it :D
We (my fiancee and myself) went back to the store and exchanged the 26in crate for a 30in crate, the biggest one they had. We got it home, got it set up, and it just looks to suit her so much better, and I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Now I dont have to worry about her cooped up in a little crate, just this big one!
I had another question, I only put Cassie in the crate if I am leaving to run errands, or going to work (I come home on lunch, and am here for about 45min). I try not to leave her in it if it can be helped. But she hates getting in that thing. Is there anything I could do to help change her mind about her crate, I want her to see it as her den, safe haven, her bed, a place that is ONLY hers, and she does not have to share. Advice will gladly be taken. Thanks in advance.
Kelly, and Cassie
Try and make it be a fun place.
Make her earn her treats by going in her kennel on command(whatever work you use) and then getting her treat. If feasible, she could have her food in there as well.
Another fun thing is a safe toy that she only gets in her crate. Mine LOVE their kong toys, stuffed with yummy treats. They only get them in their respective crates, and they are picked up and put away when we get home. When they see me filling them (assembly-line style on the kitchen counter), they all race to their kennels. It takes them awhile to get all the goodies out, so it is a good thing to keep them busy.
Not to worry you, but Ru has the size 42" :sidestep:
When can we not use the crate? Mine is housebroken but we always crate when not home and at night. She is 16 weeks old now.
I think you should consider it when you can tell your dog is responsible enough.

At 16 week ...heck at almost 8 months (my pup) ...is no way in hell responsible enough. He'd terrorize the older dog, chew my kid's little men, and probably invade the fridge. If there's one thing he's clever/smart about...it's how to get to the food.

Crates never get too old. My small dog was smarter than heck and so well behaved so at 16 weeks... we had no problem, but with my OES ...I think we had to wait until a year or older. I'm thinking older but my memory sucks.
