Problem with treats

Someone gave me a bag of Pedigree Jumbones (mini size) for Phoebe.
She had one a day for three days. On the afternoon of the third day, when my husband came home, she bolted out the door and had several episodes of diarrhea. Poor thing had been holding it!
She seems all recovered now and is eating fine. Since she had no other treats and does not go outside unaccompanied, I attribute her problems to the Jumbones. I called Pedigree who told me that there wasn't any recall, etc on any of their products.
Phoebe is sooo patient. I took her into our very small walk-in shower and used the hand-held showerhead to washdown her backside. The warm water must have felt good. Then a dab of vaseline on the itchy part that she had been dragging on the floor.
Finally: sanitize the shower and clean the carpet.
I was worn out but she was ready for a game of tug.

Her tummy must be sensitive to whatever is in Jumbones since she only had one a day. They are about three inches long and 1/2" in width.
We gave Barney some treats called Buddy Buscuits (I think) and they are small--like the size of a wheat thin, and I'd only give him one a day and it'd give him the WORST gas ever. So sometimes a small amount can really mess with them...
Read the ingredients for something new in their diet. Anything soy and it's gas mask time here.........I hesitate to share any toasted soy cheese sandwich with Jack........he can get the crusts only.

lol, I'd take only the crusts too!
We don't think of the treats we give our dogs as food,
but isn't that what they are really? Just as you would
change from one food to another very gradually, I
would only give a new treat once and wait to see if the
dogs could handle it. Some of the treats like Jumbones are
very salty and very rich for the tummy. They actually
taste a lot like playdough!
Anything outside their normal range of food can cause an
upset. My dogs got some cookies yesterday by accident-
(and the responsible party got in deep doo-doo for it  )
and BOY oh BOY did I have a huge clean up!! Like I wanted
to be inside cleaning carpet when it was so warm and sunny
outside.
