Corn Starch

I'm sure all the "pros" out there know this but...My groomer who used to show sheepies many years ago, told me when trying to get out knots and matts use corn starch. Rub the corn starch into the mat before trying to split it out. I tried it and it worked wonders! Makes a bit of a mess on the fllor but easy enough to sweep up.

She also suggest using a kitty litter pan filled with corn starch and dipping their feet in when coming in from outside. It keeps the pads dry between the "toes" and keeps the belly dry since most sheepies will curl their feet up under ther belly when laying down.

Just thought I'd throw that idea out there to you...anyone else do this?

Huh! Never heard about it, but will try it! For the paws and belly, will be great if it works. Thanks!
Sounds like a great idea! I'll start offering that as a suggestion to my clients. Have you tried cornstarch baby powder with aloe? We used that instead of traditional baby powder on our daughter and it worked wonders.
I tried the cornstarch baby powder - don't bother.
It gets gummy, not sure why. The plain old cornstarch
worked better for me. I used an empty powder container
to sprinkle it on and it was fine.
