Sneezing

Do dogs get colds?

Remy's been sneezing the last couple of days. She has had all her shots including bordetella. We've been to the dog park, both Sat and Sun. Our house is dry, and she only sneezes occasionally. It is not all day, just a couple times during the day. But only these past couple of days.

I'm curious because it's not normal, but not abnormal I'm sure.

Daisie could be sneezing due to dust, and also remember that we have our homes heated and her nose could be dry and that is why she may be sneezing. Dogs usually can not get our illnesses due to the differences in our temperatures, a dogs is higher than ours. As far as I know they don't get colds but can have allergies that can show up in several different ways. Sneezing, itching, coughing, hair loss just to name a few. But if you are concerned, talk to your vet and be sure. We never want to miss anything that could threaten the safety and well being of our furry childlren.

Good luck!
Could Daisie have gotten something in her nose at the dog park? What are those awful little burrs that get caught up a dog's nose and that you can't get out? Are they called fox tails? My last dog (a Chessie) got one up her nose and had to see the vet to have it removed.
Vaccines are not always reliable, especially the bordatella vaccine, it is widely known to be mostly ineffective. If you are concerned, take her to the vet.
Regarding colds, my kitty has been sneezing the last few days and just got diagnosed with an upper respitory infection, so it could be a cold. Look for discharge in her nose or eyes, any inactivity, not eating, etc. Could mean she needs an antibiotic
I would try to look up her nose. One year when sand was put on the road due to snow they put small pebbles well Oreo sniffed up one and had a small bloody nose which scared me. The vet said they had many calls for the same problem. You just never know
Thanks everyone...she doesn't have any discharges common to a cold. Our house is always dusty...field of dirt right behind us. I have an appt for the thyroid test to be done on SAT I'll ask if they notice anything abnormal.
