Rescue Remedy

I received my order of Rescue Remedy today in the mail. Yeah!!!
So, the instructions say to put it in water or put 4 drops on Tux's tongue. Well, I can take him to his water bowl--but, I can't make him drink it!! And, trying to get 4 drops on this tongue might be a little tricky. Would it work to put it on a small piece of a treat??? Thanks for any help you have! Tux's Mom

Can you put it in your hand and have him lick it up? You might try putting it
in a small amount of low sodium beef or chicken broth. If all else fails, try
the treat. We used Bach's Rescue Remedy for a short time with Panda too.
I think the broth is a good idea. I will try that! I am actually looking forward to our next thunderstorm--to see if it works!!! He will lick it out of my hand..if it tastes good! Thanks for the help!
Did it work with {Panda? And, how long before it wore off and you needed to give some more???
The Bach's Rescue Remedy I think has an alcohol base to it. I tasted it
and it wasn't too bad. Panda took it ok.

Panda had severe separation anxiety... probably from being rehomed too
many times and spending about 3 weeks at a humane society. It was the
kind of anxiety where we couldn't even have a closed door between us or
she'd pee on the floor or bed, poop on the chaise lounge or get
destructive. It did not work for that nor did the D.A.P pheromones wall
plug-ins. We finally had to go with a prescription med for about a year
and work at building trust... we then weaned her off it.

BUT... Panda came from a groomer and supposedly LOVED to be
groomed... it was even part of her description! It might have been true if
you could get her to sit still for two seconds! I would let her play
outside first, give her the Rescue Remedy, then brush her out. It seemed
to take the edge off.

I can't really tell you how long it worked though... I had clipped her short
and was trying to work her into a grooming routine so sessions weren't
very long.

Maybe someone else here share how long it might last?
the rescue remedy doesnt work for me!
From what I've heard as long as it gets somewhere on the body it will work, or use the dropper to put in on the gums. I've dipped a spoon in yogurt and put a few drops on top, my guys just lick it right off the spoon.
I used it for my then 10 year old chow...she was terrified of thunderstorms. I only had to use it a few times. It worked right from the first time giving it to her. I just opened her mouth and squirted it on her tongue...you can also just put it on their nose (which they lick off) the dogs dont usually like the taste of it. After using it a few times I think Chelsea learned thunder was nothing to fear and we never had to use it again.
Well, we had a thunderstorm last nite (very small!)..; but at the slightest hint of lightening/thunder, Tux begins to pace, pant, and whine. I tried the rescue remedy--had to put it on a cracker. After 20 minutes--it had not helped. I tried again--no luck. I am going to try today (looks like rain again) and try the yogurt and/or putting it on his nose. If I could just get it in his mouth or on his gums (without using food) I think it might have a better chance of working. The food may counteract it???
Thanks! Tux's Mom
