Chewing rocks and stones

Snowy had started to dig holes in the back yard and if she finds a small stone she will chew on it. So far I have not seen her swallow one (yet.)

What should I do???

Stop her!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't leave her unsupervised. The stones will accumulate in her belly and become a medical emergency.
My son's Blood Hound is 2 years old now...but when he was about a year old...he ate some rocks about the size of ping pong balls. My son didn't know he was eating them until he noticed the dog quit eating his food and stopped pooping. He took him to the vet and sure enough the dog had 5 rocks stuck in his intestines which required surgery to remove. He had to start supervising him while outside and bought him some toys to help distract him from the rocks. I don't have any advice for you (other than supervising while outside)....his dog just eventually grew out of it. Some people think that the reason they eat rocks is because they are missing some kind of mineral in their diet. My vet said that some dogs just simply eat rocks for no known reason. Maybe someone else here will have some better suggestions for you,

Good Luck!
summer drives us mad doing this. She will go in the garden and eat leaves, grass, twigs, dig holes and eat dirt. At the moment we are going out with her every single time. I am trying to persuade hubby to slab half the garden and have a fence put up At least she could go on the patio bit unsupervised...
Since Charlie got spayed she got the stupid habbit of eating chipbark!!! My whole garden is full of chipbark! Even if we go out with her the chipbark is quicker in her mouth as we can jump!

Cant wait to move cause there is NO chipbark anymore!!!

It never bothered her before all these months!! 8O :?
There is the craziest black lab that belongs to one of the neighbors at our cabin in NM....he carries a rock with him everywhere he goes. If his rock fell in a snowbank, he'd dig until he found it again.

They're big, so no need to worry about him swallowing them, but his teeth were worn down severely. I thought they should be causing him pain they were worn so low, but apparently not. Point is, small or big rocks - be careful and get that habit broken ASAP.

I now grab kibble as we head for the back garden, and say "swap" she then spits it out and gets a bit of kibble....nuisance though...
