Hello Everyone,

I obviously haven't had enough soda this morning because I read that and thought, "They aren't from Jersey".
Allow me to place my own emoticon
Actually, I got my Bovines mixed up..I should of said Holstein...
LOL - I was confused as well - Jerseys don't have spots!!! :D(I just hate it too when the wrong word comes out!) Very interesting markings, spots and all.
That is one cute BIG puppy. Good luck with him. :D
He's a very handsome fellow with some very interesting markings. :D
He does look like a cow! Love the markings, he's adorable! :hearts:
oh he is so handsome keep us posted how he is doing!
He is a cutie! Great markings.
MMMoooooooo! What a cutie. He'll find a furever real quick.
He is a doll. I thought Dalmation.
I was thinking maybe the rare spotted dachshund.

That looks like a looooong dog!
Oh, what a handsome boy Max is!
Just look at that adorable face. :hearts:
Thanks for fostering him, Colin!
Does he get on with the others okay?

A moo cow! He is going to look great when his hair grows out - the markings are so cool. He is all around cute. What is his background?
Max is adorable! I love his markings too and agree that he does look like a :cow:  Would love to know more about him!
After having him for about 5 months Max's owners decided they could no longer keep him and returned him to the breeder.

He was very badly matted and needed to be clipped down. The breeder demanded money from the former owner to get him in shape so that she could "find him a good home". However when the former owner balked at sending any money, the breeder dumped Max at a vet.

The vet contacted a nice woman in the area who works with Basset Hound Rescue, and she contacted Ingrid at OESNSE. That's how he ended up with us.

He does not seem to have been abused in anyway as he is very well adjusted to being around people. From what I gleaned from some of the info I got when I picked him up he had been mainly an outdoor dog. But he is completely house broken. We are working on teaching him to sit etc.

Max has got to one one the sweetest most loving dogs ever. For example, some friends of mine in the neighborhood took a walk by my yard yesterday. While my two girls (who know these people well) were barking their fuzzy little heads off at them, , Max was poking his nose through the chain link fence so he could be petted.

He's going to make someone out there very happy.
As one with a cow-sheepie, all I can say is Max, you and Jack have similar markings! I love the dirty bum mark, looks like you boys sat in the mud.

Speaks for the character of the breeder!!!

Here's hoping that Max finds a home that will love him and appreciate him for the sheepie that he is.

My Patch was allegedly dumped by a breeder too - she was spayed by the owner(s) and when returned, the breeder didn't want her because she was "no good to her." She was dumped at a shelter and fortunately a worker at the shelter recognized her as an oes and called the rescue. I am fortunate to have found such a wonderful dog -
has max found ha home yet?

His adoption is pending.

I have spoken with a very nice lady that is very interested in him. She is coming to meet him soon and is going to bring her current dog with her to meet Max too.

Max had surgery yesterday - he was neutered and had an umbilical hernia fixed as well. So he will be with us at least until his stitches come out.

He's a great friend.

He is awfully cute. Have you met the lady who might adopt him?

No I haven't met her but have spoken with her on the phone. She seems very nice and knowledgeable about dogs.

Hopefully she will be coming up to Birmingham to meet Max soon.
I hope so -- and I hope it all works out!!! He is so cute!
Hi,

I wanted to let everyone know that Max went to his permanent home on Thursday. He's with a great family with kids and another dog to play with. By all reports he is settling in very well. We're very happy for Max, he's a remarkably sweet dog and we miss him.

Here's some pics of Max during stay with us.

Colin - That last picture is a riot! So glad Max found his furever home. Both you and your wife did a great job with him! :clappurple:
Great photos! So glad Max found a good home. Thanks for fostering him!
The markings are too cute. It almost reminds me of cherries hanging off of his side...LOL (don't ask...hahaha)....

I love stories like this! What a great ending. Kudos to you for fostering a sheepie. We tried and failed within 24 hours......we now have two OES.
Bad news. Max has come back to us. The family's current dog would not accept Max and the owner was concerned about the dogs fighting and their kids getting bit. She said that Max was a saint but that their lab would not deal with him. I'm 2 for three with fosters coming back after leaving once. lol. The second time was the charm with Brady, I'm sure it will be with Max too. He's going to make someone very happy.

So Max came back on Thursday and is presently having a big time romping around the yard with Sadie and Stella.

He's getting huge!
Good news! Max has moved to the beach!

A wonderful retired couple has adopted him. Max went home with them on Tuesday. His new family have had two sheepdogs previously and were thrilled to adopt Max.

We're very happy for Max and his family.

:D
:clappurple: Wishing him lots of luck!!
