Thanks for the notice. I spoke with Caitlyn and asked her to allow us to place them for her. She agreed to consider it. :? I'll let her have a few days to mull it over and then call her back. Will keep you posted.
  I couldn't resist sending a comment!
I appreciate your exhuberance, but please don't send unkind messages to her. It could hinder my efforts to get them into rescue. :)
thanks tammy i knew you were the right one to contact..
Yeah, we all know how much of your time marriage can take up.

Tammy is absolutely right. Nasty comments by well-meaning but overly-aggressive people may end the dogs up in a worse situation. It also gives Rescues a bad name. If this woman isn't willing to properly care for the dogs after she's married, is it fair for the dogs to remain with her? None of us know the emotions that surrendering owners go through unless we've been there. Sure, this ad sounds upbeat and cheery to make it appealing but this owner may be miserable making this decision.

Again, I'd like to ask those who could not bear to give up their pets under any circumstances to please be more compassionate to those who must. When it's possible to counsel someone into keeping their animals, that's a wonderful thing. When they can no longer care for the animals, please don't shame them into keeping them and not properly caring for them, dumping them along the road or killing by inhumane means.

You are all so right and wise!
Nita only sounds wise because Jr. is in the background helping her out.
I think it's better for the dogs to be given up and found new homes than it is for them to be neglected. I hope they can all stay together to make the transition easier.
I know it doesn't help matters but you know we all feel a certain "How could you do that?" since our dogs are so important to us and it seems that some people give dogs away for the most frivolous reasons. But, like everybody said, it's just about making sure the dogs end up in the best home, despite our disappointment in the owners.
I wish I could take each and every dog I hear about that needs rescued or a home. These posts always dig so far into my heart....

I applaude all of you that put such time and effort into making sure these babies get the best possible care.

To all of the you that help in rescue-- or have rescued--- big hugs!

:ghug:
