Nationals

Where are people planning on staying for the Nationals?

Wow. Aren't you efficient! I don't think that the host hotel has been announced yet.
Kristine, do you know?
:D I don't even know where Jill and I are staying for the PA show this month 8O
My understanding is that there is not a host hotel, per se. Rather, there will be a list of area hotels for us to choose from. Most activities are at the show site, with the exception of the banquet.

The hotels are in Stillwater, which is the nearest "real" town to the show site. It is a little drive between - about 5-7 miles or so. (Stillwater is my hometown, and the show site is the fairgrounds where I showed for our local KC shows growing up.)

It is also a quick 20 minute commute from St. Paul. All good highways, so it is real easy.

Yep, the list (one hotel doesn't allow dogs 8O ) is in the new Old ENglish Times - hence the question.
since this is your home town mayhap you could give us some idea of which hotel you would stay at?

Sorry!! If you get a chance, check the Sewickley Country Inn and see if they have rooms or what their rates are. I'll give it a shot if I get a chance.
They don't have anything for the dates we need :(
D'OH!!

Do you know where you guys are staying for the simcoe show? We haven't booked a hotel yet, it would be cool if we could all stay at the same one :)
Just looking into it, best choices are Travelodge or Comfort Inn in Simcoe. I prefer the Travelodge simply because they supply me with constant caffiene. :D It's also closer to the show and has more amenities, and is a whole dollar cheaper per night
I'll run out and get the premium list and see what else is on there.
As for nationals, I'm just waiting for Dawn to tell me where to stay. I have totally abdicated any attempt at planning or trying to figure out what's going on this year and I quite love it

Would be nice to pick the same hotel if possible. We probably do need to make reservations soon.

New OET? I don't have mine yet!! I have been gone most of the weekend, so maybe it is out in my mailbox....although I got the last one way later than everyone too!
I will do my best to recommend - I have been transplanted down here in southern MN for over half my life now.
Don't feel bad. I'm the Information Materials person and am supposed to get all of the extra OET's. Stupid Fed Ex has lost DECEMBER's issues and we're still looking for them!!!

Stillwater is beautiful. Was there for a wedding once...(Water Street Inn) Plus don't they have a big wheel ferry and cave tours?

Where are you thinking, I haven't thought about it yet. It will be me, Jill, Gabe, and maybe Clyde will come along for the ride. Jonah will be at a show in Birch Run.

Stillwater is very beautiful - I still miss it!
Yes, they have the paddlewheel boats (no Judi, they are not near the show site!!). We had our high school proms on them. I'm not sure if they still do cave tours, lots of them were bricked up d/t safety concerns (kids, parties, etc)
Hey, could someone keep me posted on this stuff???? :D

Not everyone is an OESCA member and since the website doesn't seem to get updated very often would you all be so kind as to holler at me when there is some info regarding this year's National?

I thought it was in Lake Elmo not Stillwater... duh I just map quested it and realized it is all realtively in the same area.

Dawn- guidance always appreciated! Otherwise I know of a decent Best Western in St. Paul that we usually stay at when we are up there...but it would be nice to only be 5-7miles from the showsite!

I think we are going to stay at the Travelodge. It's close to the show, and they feed my caffeine addiction with a constant supply LOL
Blech, Travelodge is booked so we've booked at the Comfort Inn.
We're booked there too, see you soon :)
