Sliding

Hi all....

Little Pirate loves to run. However, a lot of times while he's running, he ends up sliding!

He slides on the street, he slides on the lawn, he slides in house and on his way into the house, he slides across the deck.

I sorta think, his feet run faster than his body! Today after we played outside, he came in looking like he had slid into first! He had mud on his front legs and his chest..yes, it had been raining.

He never seems to get hurt, he just gets up and runs some more.

Do any of your dogs do this? Is he just being clumsy? Phase? Or klutz  ?

My first guess, is he is just being a sheepie. Jack and Annabelle run and slide as well. On tile floors they look like scooby doo running from the monster and they can't get a grip and they just run in place for a bit. It is hilarious. OUrs, don't seem hurt either, but can when they chase the ball into the wall because the didn't stop. OUCH!

LOL... Dancer does this too! When she was a pup and would run and slide her front paws stretched out and I used to say "Superdog!" because it looked like she was trying to be superman... now I can get her to do it on command, I say Superdog! and she puts her front paws out and "flies" across the kitchen. LOL
Presley does this too! She's a major KLUTZ (aka GOOFBALL!). It's like watching a slapstick comedy routine! Picture KRAMER from Seinfield - in a sheepdog costume - that's PRESLEY!

Its nice to know Pirate isn't the only doing this!

I do worry that he will hurt himself. Our kitchen floor is tile, and more than once, he's gone head first into the patio doors. Sometimes, afterwards, he shakes his head, and then rubs his "arms" on the sides of his head. I worry, but he so silly looking, I have to laugh!

I'm thinking about getting him a protective helmut to wear (just kidding!) :D

Often times, I've sounded like I was screaming at George of the Jungle when Presley is running around - "Watch out for that TREE!!!!!"

The other day she ran face first into a bush in the yard - now I know why OES have the protective hair over their eyes!
I love it!   Reading your stories have me laughing! I can picture both of my sheepies in your stories.

Jack also bumps and rubs his head with his paws, I feel so bad for him, but it is the cutest thing!

When Pud runs into the counter or the wall or the tree or, well you all know what I mean, he looks at me like "Why did you put that there?". Of course when he has "gas" he looks at me like I'm the one that did it  .
Sofa does the same thing, runs in the same place until she can get a grip on herself and start running, very funny. She does that in tile floors and when she comes down the stairs and runs out of rug to grip on... looks like Sofa on ice.

We don't let them run in the wet grass or mud any more since last spring when Lennon slided in wet grass and hit his shoulder with a bench. He almost lost use of his front left leg and had to be immobilized for 3 weeks... Be careful with your clumsy monsters!
