Hi,

I hope you enjoy many happy years with your boy. With a sheepie in the house you'll always have a reason to smile.

Marianne
HIP, HIP, HOOOOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What, and you haven't uploaded pictures yet??? What is wrong with you, man?! :D :D :D
That is great news.

Pictures! We need pictures!!!
Congrats on your new family member! :D
So exciting!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad the boy is home---can't wait to hear the antics!
Congrats
Kathy
sorry, no pix yet... i am not a big picture guy but will work on it.

i cant believe how well behaved he is... i expected terror in the house for a while.

i picked up a neighbor's 5 year old boy at day care today. they both sat in the the back seat. tulo slept with his head on the seth's lap on the way home.

i ate dinner on the couch. he just sat and looked at me with longing eyes but made no attempt to beg or steal. i told him to sit. he lay down and just watched me eat.

i dont know his bathroom schedule yet. i took him on a half dozen walks with no results although he did pee once (squatting, lol). i dont know if he is too young to lift his leg or just too tall and afraid he'd lose his balance.

when someone comes to door, he is very excited but sits until i open the door then greets the entrant enthusiastically. he wants to jump on him but i am careful not to let him

i wasted $37 on the training tape... the dog is better behaved than i am.
i think all of us are thinking~~~~~~~~~~~~~can we trade dogs!!!
so happy the wait ws well worth it

Woo hoo!
congratulations and can't wait for pictures! :D :ghug:
well, i found out tulo's bathroom schedule.... 4:30 am!

i'll cut him a break... yesterday was a big day for him.

have i mentioned how HUGE he is?....or that he is a great dog?

lol
He sounds like a great kid, you'll have lots of fun with him :)
lol...sounds like you found the perfect one!!
Congrats.

Ralph squats to pee too and he's now 5.
yeah! I'm glad he's home with you now!

Oh, and Barney's almost 4 and doesn't lift his leg to pee...
I'm glad you're enjoying each other!
Congrats! He sounds like a wonderful boy!
Congratulations! I'm glad that he is doing so well.
WELCOME HOME! He sounds great! I'm sure I missed it in another thread...what's his story and background?
He sounds pretty perfect! I have two boys 3 and 1 year old and still squat to pee. My 3 year old, Lumpi peed about 8 times lifting his leg up, Boni never.

So, how big is he?
Our prior dog would lift his leg to mark territory; things like utility poles and trees. But in grass, he always squatted.
Can OES hold off peeing for a long time? My Phoebe can go longer without peeing than any dog I've ever seen. We take her out at 10pm nightly. I walk her at 6:30 am. We might walk 2 or 3 blocks before she ever pees. She always has water available. When we first got her it took her a while to poop.
We are the third owners. Do you think that she might have been crated a lot when she was younger and that's why she can go so long without peeing?
true about peeing. my other dogs used to lift their legs every 5 steps.

tulo is like a camel. just holds water.

how big is he? hard to say but the first words out of everyone's mouth his "what a big dog".

if i leave for an hour, i come back and say "what a big dog". he is tremendous.

as far as describing his personality the only word that does it justice is "goofball".

i just watch him and laugh. hard to describe ,really.

today while we were driving. he had his front legs on the back floor.
his rump was planted on the backrest of the back seat with his back legs just dangling. the funny thing is that he was comfortable in that position.
...la dee da kinda look on his face...like... "what are you laughing at dad?"

time to hit the hay... tulo says be ready at 4:30
congratulatins, sounds like you make a good team :D
My Pirate is a big, BIG boy too! And he is over 4 years...AND HE STILL DOESN'T PICK UP HIS LEG!!!!

Congrats to you and Tula!!!!! Here's to a long, healthy and happy life together!

My OES Violet can go for a long time without going potty. I also always leave the water out for all three dogs. When we take our morning walk, an hour, she will poop, but usually not pee. As soon as I put her breakfast out in the morning, she goes outside pees then comes in and eats. (we have doggy doors, so done when needed)
When we first got Lizzie...she'd hold her poo and pee, and only go once a day. It made it very difficult to train her.

After she was in our home for about a week...and she was more relaxed, she established a more regular schedule.

Ralph does that too in the "big" (Honda Element) car. He'll sit with his head between Karen and I and watch the road just like we do. It is SOOOO funny.
Congrats on getting the perfect dog for you!!! :D Still waiting on those pictures!!
tulo has a nice routine already.
ho
we feed him at same times each day. walk him at same times on same route...

he has a favorite pee spot (close to home) and a favorite poop spot a bit further one.

he does pull a bit on leash (espec when he sees someone) but the harness works great (it pulls him around toward me when he pulls). as soon as he feels it tightening around his chest he backs off the pull before it turns him. it even works on a 16 foot leash.

so far he is perfect BUT today we see about seperation anxiety... fingers crossed.
We worried about Phoebe when we left the first time, too. But she did fine and doesn't seem to mind when we leave. But she's always glad when we get home. When we leave we always tell her that she in charge and to take care of the house. Our prior dog was "Director of Homeland Security" but I don't think Phoebe is ready for such a serious title.
tulo is a pisser.

i take him down to the pond for his daily constitution (he likes to pee and poop in the EXACT same spots every day..weird). he cant take his eyes off the ducks.

since he never wants to be more than 5 feet from me, i let him off the leash to sniff around while i sat in the grass.

suddenly a big white duck was swimming after the brown ones.... it was tulo's head...lol

ps , he came right into shore when i called him.
How funny! Good thing he's shaved, otherwise you would have a real mess on your hands!

You may have answered this before, I may just have missed it, but what does Tulo mean?
what a good boy!! i am so happy for the updates !!!! thinking of both of you

How fortunate for you that he answers so well. He sounds like a great dog.

i have always named my dogs after my favorite athletes.... gretzsky, ripkin, rene (rene robert) etc..

troy TULOwitzsky is the shortstop for the colorado rockies.
Well, even though I a Chicago White Sox fan...I still that is a very cute name!
tulo has a bad case of diarrhea.

prolly my fault for trying to change (albeit slowly) his food brand.

now on a chicken and rice diet with acidophilus.... we shall see.

once this is over , i am going back to the food he came with...pedigree for adults.
Ooo - I missed the duck pond update. Tulo and Chewie would get along famously - there would be 2 white ducks swimming after the brown ones!

Sorry about the runs - such a mess. :(
