Yvonne and Wild Angel are planning to join us. There are also a couple other OES owners in the area who I'll e-mail with this information.

Sounds like fun already, if the weather cooperates!

Nita
I tried to sign in but it says my username is not correct. I would be interested. I live near Cincinnati and have a 1 year old female named Carley. We will be there. I am glad there is one close.
Any idea why it won't let me sign in? Schoolmarm

schoolmarm, I sent you a note via e-mail about the get-together. Don't know why you can't get signed in, though. :-(

That's great news! I'm looking forward to meeting you and Carley.

Don't know either. This has happened to me on another forum that uses the same software program as this one. Usually, if I shut down and reboot I can get in.
Here's the weekend weather forecast for Cincinnati:

What a great idea! Have a great time!
I wish it was Saturday instead. I could come down then but it's too much driving for a work night. :(

Its a very informal get together. I'm going to keep looking for the Michigan get together. My husband is ready to come too.
Hopefully, this will be the start of many Cincinnati get togethers.
I wanted to bring something down to Nita so it was a good activity to go along with it. It would've made it a worthwhile, dual purpose run.

We won't do Michigan stuff until the weather is significantly better and with Sheepiepalooza and the Ontario picnic, I probably won't shoot for until late July or early August-- the only problem is that it's so darn hot then. Maybe we can do September this year. We'll see what everyone's availability is as it draws closer.
Gertie is coming, too!
So we have: Cosmo, Carlo, Nelson, Wild Angel, Carley, Gertie and Phoebe.
My husband is putting fresh batteries in his camera.
The park fee is $2.
There are restrooms at the Pavilion where we are meeting.
Doesn't look like the snackbar will be open.
Halfway around the lake there is a water fountain both for humans and for dogs. (Phoebe is afraid of it and won't drink from the metal dish.)
Knowing the area-- do you think it would be too much for Max. He is doing so well-- but needs some rest time if he walks for long periods.

I have a dear friend in Hamilton, and , could bring her along for a great walk!
The total path is 1.6 miles and is fairly flat with just a few gentle rises.
There are some benches along the way.
You could always go just part of the way and come back.
OR
Walk the opposite way that we walk and come back with us.
I imagine that we'll all be chatting so much that we won't be walking too fast.
"Wild Angel" is almost 10 yrs. old and needs to rest more often, too. :-) We'd love it if you can attend! :yay: :yay: :yay:
We can definitely take our time. The last weekend, Phoebe took her sweet time sniffing everything and marking. She pooped twice and peed 6 times. Plus I think we'll have a lot of people asking questions when they see our group.
This going to be sooo much fun. :cheer:
Good weather report for Sunday: sunny with a high of 48.
Perfect weather for a sheepie walk!
Carley and I are looking forward to getting together tomorrow afternoon.
She says it will be great to be with others who are as cute as her, as we know only another Sheepie qualifies.
I hope some of this fog and dreary weather goes away before tomorrow.
We actually live in Hamilton. I work in Cincinnati.
See all of you soon!
Looking forward to seeing you, Schoolmarm. Phoebe may bring her new bunny ears. The weather is now supposed to be partly cloudy and 45.
Gertie is getting very excited to finally meet up with other Sheepies!

Gertie
We WILL be there tomorrow. We have to pick up Ollie but we will try to be there on time.

If we are late, we will just bring up the rear. ( And you know there ain't no rear like a sheepdog rear!) :P

Cosmo and Carlo can't wait to meet everybody!
OK, we meant to be there, we tried to be there, but everything worked against us today! :(

We did manage to bring home a new sheepie to our family, and he is a sweetheart! He is my first rescue sheep and we are thrilled to have him join us!

Please tell me there is going to be a next time, because if not, Carlo and Cosmo will never speak to me again!
We are so sorry you couldn't make it today. It was great to meet everyone. The uprights enjoyed watching the Sheepies. All of them were well behaved and interacted with several young children. Several of us took pictures. I will try to get them developed so that I can put them on soon. I left my digital camera in my office at work.
We are planning to get together again. Hope you can make it then.
:) :) :)
Here's a few pics from today:

I stole this one from doggygirl's album: Thanks, Chuck!

We had a great time, a brisk walk and found new OES friends. :-) So sorry Lori, Denise and Elizabeth were unable to make it. :-( We WILL be getting together again soon!

Nita
It was fun! Very tentative plans are to have another get together on a Saturday in mid-May at an off leash dog park. I'd also like to find a pet friendly restaurant with out door seating so that the people can relax after a busy day.

We are there next time FOR SURE. Max is sick this weekend :(

It looks like fun was had by all!! :) :)
Looks like you all had a good time! :D

Thanks for the link, Erin. Doug did a great job of getting pics of all of the sheepies.
The pictures are great! Cosmo and Carlo are still upset that we didn't get to attend, but we had to pick up Sir Edgar ( also known as Ollie) and get him settled in his new home.

So now THREE sheepies are ready for the next sheep party!
