A gift for mom

Hi everyone,
My boy is almost 4 months old now. He keeps us laughing all the time, we are so glad we got him. I am thinking of getting another so he will have a playmate. I have a husky (Alberta) but she is an outdoors dog and Mukwa only gets to play with her when he goes outside.
I usually take Mukwa outside and stay outside with him but the other day I was a little busy so I thought I would let him venture out with the husky alone.
When I heard scratching at the door I opened it and Mukwa came running in. He stopped turned to me with his little behind wiggling and looked up to me as if to say "I Love You Mom, and I have brought you home a gift".
He dropped his gift at my feet. It was just lovely, I thanked him then let out a screech. The first thing I noticed was the long black tail and the little legs with big claws at the end of them. It was a muskrat. I gave Mukwa a big hug then went to find some rubber gloves and a plastic bag to aid me in picking it up and disposing of it.
I live on a small farm, but hope not to get too many of those gifts.

Poor Dawna!! Maybe we should change the song to "muskrat Mukwa"? The worst I've ever had was a cat that would bring in baby bunnies for me to examine... (that was before I realized how dangerous it can be for a kitty to be outside, of course!) Oh! And he brought in a grackle once too...

Karen :)
That is so cute Dawna...lol.... can we see some new pics of Mukwa soon? :)
Awwww gotta luv the little guy for thinking of you!!

He's adorable in his avatar and I swear he's smiling at the camera!

Just a suggestion, perhaps wait until he's a bit bigger to think of getting another dog. At the moment Alberta isn't taking issue with him as he's a pup and it's against their code of nature to attack a youngster. Jealousy may eventually come into play when he's older and gets the choice spot -(the house) even if she prefers being outdoors. Throw another one into the mix and oooohhhh boy....pack mentality. Hope you didn't mind me throwing that in as I have three and trust me...it changes the whole dynamics as they think more in the pack mentality than if it is two of different sexes. Then you really have to be Alpha and dominate all three and there are days when I long for peace in the household again as each vies to be close to me. Ah well going off topic and I really wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your story.

Hi Willowsprite,
I will post more pics, he likes to bark at the camera whenever I take it out, and when I get a chance at the perfect pic and I am about to snap the pic he moves. 8O

Marianne, thanks for any suggestions you may have, I am open to listening to any suggestions you or any one esle have to offer. You are probably right, bringing a new puppy home so soon is probably not the best idea. I have waited almost my whole life before I finallygot an OES, so it won't hurt me to wait for another one (Just not so long) :D
