The List

Hello Friends,

I took some time yesterday and put this together - http://www.winnifredslist.com. I culled the list from OES Rescues I found online and then went through and linked to all dogs Petfinder.com claimed to be OES or OES Mixes (some of them I'm not so sure of, LOL). It's very simple, just a page of names linked to Sheepdogs needing homes - but it is centralized.

If you know of a Sheepdog that needs to be linked to the list please let me know, you can contact me through the forum here or you can email the link to rescue@winnifredslist.com.

Now to keep it maintained...

Thank you for all the time you took to create this centralized site. You sound as if it didn't take much time but I'm sure just the phone calls were time consuming. The site is very easy to use and looks fabulous!
Great job!! :clappurple:

Color me impressed! Great job, and thank you for your work!
alright !! the best thanks
Linking some sites (OESCA, for one) requires permission. Just something to be aware of.
Great job!

Thanks for the info. I'll take care of it.

No, it doesn't require a website owner's permission to link to a website. I think that's silly, and makes OESCA look foolish to make that statement on their home page, especially to younger folks. But hey, I'm not a lawyer.

I feel that is equivalent to The Boston Globe insisting that stating "The Boston Globe prints articles about current events, here's their address" requires the Globe's permission.
Could this have more to do with breeders not linking to the OESCA website?
You get a non-member linking to the OESCA site and it looks like they're
"approved" by the group. I could see this being a problem so they require all
links to be approved...
I suspect that is their intent and reasoning but it is a faulty line of thought. Only (some) links FROM a site implies an endorsement, never the other way around.

If I put a link on here to www.whitehouse.gov does that imply an endorsement from the government?

On the other hand if I stated:

"oes.org is endorsed by The President of the United States of America. Visit www.whitehouse.gov for details"

or OESCA or something like that, well then that could be actionable, I suppose. But hey, I REALLY am not a lawyer! :D

If a candidate for office puts up a link to the Boston Globe, does that imply that the Boston Globe has endorsed the candidate?
Thanks to Suzptcruise, Winnifred's List has had it's first link submission - Meet Becky - http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/dis ... d=10306210 .

Thank you Suzptcruise!! :D
Looks great---
Wow that must have taken some work!!!
Wondering if Minnesota-Midwest Rescue and Indianna-Midwest Rescue may want to display their names too!! :D
It is a wonderful effort...I am amazed how you savvy internet people do this!
I have a great gal that did my Petfinders site----would say her name but, she would blush because, she is just awesome!!
(Love ya)
I appreciate you putting us on the site but, we are not incorporated so.....I guess that has to be changed for the legal part of it all
That is certainly wonderful work....

Thanks for the correction! I will get that fixed up right now.

I'm going to email the various Rescues to see if the site could possibly be added to any email list they may have. To help with staying current.
WONDERFUL, AWESOME, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice job - it looks wonderful! :D
This is great! So, can I link you to my website? :D
I think there are alot of folks that will be getting on the list!
There are people that want to help but, dont know how!
That would be a good link too! How to help------

That is a great idea!
Great site! Thanks so much for all your hard work in putting this together and keeping it updated!
Do you want to maintain all the listings at the bottom? You could use a frame
that links to Petfinder... something like this- http://untilyoufindme.com/Petfinder.htm

There would be no updating required and you could devote your time to other
areas of the site. Just pop in a link at the top that directs back to your main
site.

One of my jobs is to update pricing on websites. Can you tell how
MUCH I enjoy it and why I look for shortcuts?
Great work! What do you do in your spare time :)

Thanks that's good to know.

If anyone has any suggestions of other rescues or sites that you think should be linked please let me know, and we'll add them.

A new boy in Arizona showed up on Petfinder today, http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/dis ... id=9488680 .
