Bailey is now resting in peace

I first joined the forum in 2006 when Bailey was 11, he would have been 14 this coming June. You were all so helpful and encouraging when he was gong blind and I felt so bad for him.

It was hard to make the decision, but he just wasn't having fun anymore. His hips were so bad he would fall and not be able to get himself back up. He was completely blind and selectively deaf as well.

It was a very difficult decision, but I felt so bad for him that it is a relief now to know he doesn't hurt any more. I cry for myself and I miss him, but I am actually happy for him that he is now free.

Thank you all so much for your advice and support. You are wonderful friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how difficult that kind of decision must be, but you have to know what is best for you companion, and not be selfish. Bailey can now run free.
I am so sorry to hear that Baily had to make the trip to the Rainbow Bridge. He is now free!

Tears,
I'm very sorry for your loss. It's terribly difficult.
I am so sorry for your loss...It is the most difficult yet unselfish thing we can do. But he is now painfree, able to run, jump and see the rainbow at the Bridge.
I'm very sorry for your loss of sweet Bailey.
I have a bailey too (not a sheepie) I just recently had to make the same decision as you and it is so very hard. I am sorry for the loss of your sweet Bailey .

I know that horrible horrible decision personally. I sympathize with you, and can tell you with certainty that YOU were the best person to make that decision, you made the right one, and it was just the right time to make it. Because you made it.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm so sorry, it's always sad to lose another sheepie :( . No matter how old they are when they leave us we wish for more time. Your Bailey is with my Beau and Daisy and forever watching over you :ghug:
((((HUGS)))) I am sorry :(
It's such a hard decision to make. But you did the right thing. Remember Baily couldn't make the decision, and he wouldn't want his pack to be sad. He'd lick your tears if he could. Remember all the good times you had with him. He was a lucky dog to be so loved.
I had to have my old boy put to sleep in August 2006, this nearly broke my heart as I loved him so much but it had to be done, days, even weeks afterward I could still feel his presence in our house, we know how you are feeling and our thought are with you.
Hi Paula,

I'm so sorry for the loss of Bailey. No matter how long they live we always wish for a bit more time. You made the most unselfish decision because you loved him and that is love of the strongest kind. I have no doubt that you provided Bailey with years of happiness and love and he knew it. Saying goodbye is so hard but I hope you take solace that we are here for you and that Bailey is now pain free at the bridge.

Hugs to you

Marianne
Paula, I'm so sorry for your loss of Bailey. It is indeed the hardest decision to make, but know that you did what was best for him. He will live in your memories forever.
No matter how much time we have with them, it's never enough. You did the right thing by putting him first, even though it breaks your heart. He knew how much you loved him.
I am so sorry for your loss. I just recently had to make that same heartwrenching decision for my Missy, so I know how difficult it is. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that Bailey is now free from his bad hips and blindness and is running with all the other fur angels at the Bridge.
I am sorry for your loss. Bailey is now free and running at the bridge, he can see and hear. You did the right thing and I'm sure he thanks you.
I'm so sorry for your loss...
I hadn't really cried until I read all your kind words. Thank you so much, I needed that.
Sorry to hear of your loss, he is now free of the pain.
hugs for you and your family
I'm very sorry, I know it's very hard.
... it's hard to make such a decision but you did the right thing! :hearts:

Bailey is not in pain anymore! Happy at the Rainbow Bridge! :hearts: :ghug:
I am so sorry for your loss....thinking of you....
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard that decision is. It was made out of love for him. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
i am so sorry for your loss but you did make the right decision
I am so sorry for the loss of your Bailey. You loved him and did what was the best for him even though it hurt you more than words can say. I am so sorry. :ghug:
Bailey looked to you for everything he needed -- Food, a home, a soft place to lay his head, hugs, kisses, love. When he got older and began to have pain he was confused and looked to you to fix it -- And you did. He needed you to make that decision -- There is no more unselfish love than to cause yourself heartache to free someone you love.

:hearts:
I am so so sorry for your loss, I feel for you
