OES in GA

I am not sure about all of the specifics on this one, but it is a kill shelter. Wish I could get her myself:

Oh the poor thing... do any oes rescues know she is there? Maybe they can get her out? I would if I were closer....
I just called the contact listed on this website for Georgia. I did not get an answer, but I left a message. Hopefully she can help!
Yay Betsy! Thank you! :)
thats not too far from me! I will talk to my mom and dad tonight, ALbert would love a friend!
I hope there is some good news for her in the morning. I have been hearing a lot about something called the Rescue Railroad, where contacts from everywhere get together and drive a rescue a leg of trip and meet another who drives to another, and so on until he/she makes it to their furever home. I would think as many wonderful people as we have on this forum, we could get together sometimes to see to it that a rescue makes it to a new home. Just a thought.
My fingers are crossed for this sweet girl.

She is soooo close to me! :( I wish I had my own place right now... I want my sheepie so bad! This is so not fair... but I hope she finds a safe place. Didn't they have a OES rescue in GA?
Where are you at Integra Hellsing?
wow, someone else is up this late? LOL Hello there. 8O
I'm always up late! I am a major night owl. :D
me, too! I should be sleeping right now. My husband works nights, so I think that contributes too. All the furbabies in the house are nice and quiet and asleep, just me up, bright eyed and bushy tailed, as my grandma used to say...LOL!
lol...yup same here. Albert protested sleeping inside tonight, and wanted to be outside where its nice and cool, but I peek out every other minute and he's snoozing away with the big pillow I made him to lay on beside him :? I really need to be in bed too.
Jack usually prefers the cold tile, but will sleep in bed with me for a couple of hours IF CJ is at work for the night. Annabelle likes the bed, she has it all to herself right now. She will sleep at the foot of the bed all night long, unless CJ is home and then she likes to hog his side of the bed, and it makes him hog MY side of the bed. She likes to be right up next to him. LOL I think she is a Daddy's girl. :o
I would say Jack is Momma's boy though. :D
Jack and Annie are staying out for longer periods of time with the cooler weather upon us. We have had a lot of rain and a lot more to come, so it has been tiptoe through the grass time for Jack and WOOHOO MUD to play in for Annabelle. 8O They are alike in SO many ways, but different in just as many. LOL, and I love them both and couldn't pick a favorite. I am a bonifide Sheepie Mom. :P
I'm in central North Carolina. I think they are about 6 hours from me. I will call them and find out all the information I can. I'm thinking there isn't a OES rescue in the southeast but I could be wrong.
This is Lucy/Thumper Sorry I didn't sign in. I just got off the phone with the director. She has been there for 2 weeks. She was a stray wondering around in a parking lot. She is "not too old". She has not been fixed. The only thing is she is VERY VERY dog aggressive. She will lung at a mirror of herself. She is $60.00. They are in Gainsville, GA. 50 miles north of Atlanta. They didn't have any problems with her being adapted out of state. They didn't really ask me anything at all. So, I am about 5 hours away. I will be happy to rescue her but if someone is closer or interested just say so. I have one dog and a rabbit. So it would take some finagalling to have her at my house. So if anyone has any suggestions on how to handle this because I have never done this before.
Thanks!
I have called the lady (Betty) that Ron has listed here as Rescue contact for Georgia. I did not speak with her, but her husband. They are in Atlanta. He promised that he would pass the info on to her as soon as she got home. Since she has already been there for two weeks, I hope something happens soon!
I too called this morning. The person I spoke with said that she was dog aggressive. Not people aggressive though. She also stated that alot of people were interested in her but could not take her for they had other pets. She is a stray and has been there for 2 weeks. She said she proberbly would stay another month, for she doesn't have a problem being in a run. Also a rescue person from Michigan has enquired about her.I cannot take her for I have sheepies, they will not let her go to anyone with other pets.I am going to see if I can find a family to adopt her in the Ga. area.Lets keep our fingers crossed,I am confident this poor sheepie will find a furever home.
I guess this counts me out too :( I hope she finds a great home!
Woooroooorooooo...Someone from a rescue group in Michigan has arranged to adopt this girlie sheepie. They are sending their money to the shelter and are arranging transport
YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever arranged this a big heartfelt thank you.She deserves a good life.I hope we can get an update on her in the future.
What great news! It is great to see so many people rooting for her. :P

The kind and caring people on this forum never ceases to amaze me! I'm so glad to hear this girl will have a home. You just have to wonder how long she was on the streets to make her that dog aggressive. The poor baby! Hopefully she'll now find a home that will love and care for her as she should be loved and cared for.
Chris
I am so glad she is being rescued!!! :D

Alot of times dogs that act "dog aggressive" in shelters turn out to be just reacting out of fear and are fine with others once they have settled into their furever homes! It's so difficult to determine a dog's personality when they are in a shelter. I'm so happy that someone has opened their heart and home for her!

I'm so happy things are working out for this sweet looking girl! Yaaay! :)
YAY! Whoever said it takes a village to raise a child, should have said a Sheepie too. I agree that all of us here are nuts about not just our sheepies, but sheepies in general. It is always wonderful to see a story with a happy ending.
HIP HIP HOORAY!! I will call tomorrow to make sure all is well but it sounds great!! Thanks to all!
I'm so glad that someone was able to adopt her. :D
*phew* OMG! I was almost in tears waiting to see what would happen with her. I'm so happy now. YAY!
OK guys & gals...this sheepie girl got stood up BIG Time...Grrrrr  She has been in this shelter tooooo long  Just got off the phone with the director...this sheepie is a real sweetie...those of you in GA, NC, Tenn, SC come spring this girl! Have her in her furever home for the holidays!

That's horrible but unfortunately I think it happens more than we know!

Has anyone contacted OES Rescue Network about this girl? They may have someone in the area that is looking and/or can foster her temporarily.
Does anyone have anyupdates on this poor pup? I may be willing to foster, but if she is dog aggressive that would not work because of Max. I am headed out of town tomarrow for almost a week, but will keep cking on it.
I've emailed INgrid Thompson - the placement director for OES Rescue Network (covering the South East). She and her co-hort Cindy are working on this girl! If you can help them - please contact them through
www.oesrescuenetwork.org !

Kristen
I will give them a call when I get back to see how its going. I'm going out of town for almost a week, so I will think things over! And find out more about the dog aggression.
She is no longer on petfinder, so it looks like they found her a home!
Oh I hope so! That would just be a wonderful Christmas present for her.
The Hall Co Georgia sheepie left the shelter on Sunday with an OES Rescue. I hope she can go to her furever for the holiday too! You guys are so great to keep track of this girlie :D
