I let my dogs OFF LEASH!

We took our girls to a local school, which has a fence completely surrounding it. We took the girls off leash and let them run wild. Sure was nice to see them let loose. :D

I know where your coming from. My yard is all fenced in.
Sign up for StlOES Sheepiepalooza and you'll see lots more. Last year we had 31, this year we expect to double that. Purina Farm, Memorial Day weekend. Two fenced areas, 7 acres and 1/2 acre.
We love going to the dog park or the tennis courts and let him run. Unfortunately, whenever we let our dog off leash, he comes back with ripped and bloody paw pads. We really need to toughen those paws somehow.

really ron? even on grass?????
What fun that must have been to let your dogs go free to romp and run around. Not only was it fun for your girls but probably equally fun for the uprights watching them!

Ron..sorry to hear that about Mulligan..thinking he may be a "tender foot" like his dad? Oh lame joke ...sorry. Give Mully a belly rub from me.

Yes.
:D Ron, Have you tried paw wax? It's supposed to help tender toes.
No we haven't.

We resolved to toughen his paws with slowly increasing open field activity, but we haven't and I don't think it's going to work anyway.

They seemingly just sort of rip open at the edges where they meet the fur line.
I did the same thing today! I took the girls to a dog park a block from our house; I always leave them on leash there. But I got talking with a nice group of folks, and my girls were playing really nicely with their dogs, so I thought "Oh well, here goes..." and I released them, all the while hoping that thier instinct would be to stay near me, and stay with this pack of dogs. And they did!!!!!! *whew*

They played with the "park pack" for an hour. ALL the dogs were so nicely behaved; and my girls had so much fun! And then they came home and were so worn out that they slept on the couch and watched the Puppy Bowl. It was such a perfect Sunday!
