Is there such a thing as growing too fast?

Riley, was born on August 26th.

I got him at 6 weeks roughly. He was just a few pounds now, already he's 23 lbs and eats like a horse. I mean he's gained almost 6 lbs in a week! I don't belive there is anyway he could be satisifed. When CeCe had the bone cancer I was reading they don't know why but one theory was from minute fractures from such fast growing.

What do y'all think, he's still eating 3 meals a day, just dry food though.

Just a couple of day's ago it seems, he played a bit with the neighbor's young Jack Russel, and was very timid, today when they romped a bit, Riley decided to hit on the neighbors dog. Neither one was viscious but Riley was definitlely was playing too hard and I had to seperate them.

What kind of food is he eating? You don't want them growing too fast, but a healthy puppy does grow fast! :)
When is his next vet visit? I would ask your vet what they think too.
roo gains about 10# a month, he's almost 6 months now and he's pushing 60. That seemed about right to me. I'd ask your vet if you think he's eating too much... I'd follow what the bag says but use good judgement too.
Wow, I guess I just didn't remember how fast it is.

Riley is on Iams puppy chow. I found that it was giving him some upset stomach problems so I've watered it down with Purina little Bites and the problems have gone away. My book says 3 meals a day still at his age.

This may be relative to his age when you got him. 6 weeks is fairly young to be taken from the litter/mom - so you want to be extra careful socializing and training Riley! Try not to interfere too much - as long as neither of them are getting hurt and be sure to socialize him often and alot!

JMHO!
