What a weekend, I'm exhausted!

We had the craziest weekend ever! In addition to bringing Lizzie home, which was a joy but kept us on high alert, we are remodeling our bathroom.

I told Tony I wanted a new tub, and ceremic tile. Its a small bathroom and had one of those 1 piece bathfitter type things. It was fiberglass or plastic, and no matter how much I scrubbed, it never looked clean to me, because it could never get shiny.

Well..Tony, true to form, started the project with his friend. They have the bath in, but nothing else. It is our only bath/shower. I've had to go to the health club, or my neighbors to shower. On top of that, Saturday (wash day) we didn't have water. They had to shut it off. Ugh!

Our little remodeling job has grown. Tony is now, changing the tub, tiling the walls, pullout the pergo and putting down marble, pulling out a perfectly good vanity and mirror and replacing it. Please remember, this is the man who has been painting the kitchen for 4 years...and its 98% done!

Add this on top of bringing in our new dog! PAULA...I NEEDED TO HAVE SCOTCH WITH YOU!

So, wish me luck that this gets done fairly soon, and my life gets back normal...whatever that is!

walking over to your next door neighbors to shower in your bathrobe isnt all that cool....and ive had practice at it already
Hey 98% it great!!!

Billy has been working on a whole bunch of project that he has not completed. I am happy to say he finally completed one this weekend. :clappurple: He painted the underneath of of patio cover, which has been 3/4 painted for 2 years. My bedroom is at about 80% painted. And he started painting the pool fence about two weeks ago, that is at 70%.

Wishing you luck that it is completed soon!!
Ya know...I almost don't care if he finishes quickly. I just want to be able to shower in my own home!
Deborah, we can go drinking this coming weekend.....

Deborah, I will think of you on our party when we unpack everything. We decided to have one to fill up our new bar!

It was one of our friends idea, who LOVES scotch. 8) You could come to the party you know.

Paula too.

Ps: and everybody else...just bring booze.
Is that in Chicago or Boston?
Boston.
Oh Deb, this post has given me a case of nerves. The estimates are due by Friday on our bathroom remodel ( our one & only also ). We are totally gutting it and moving the fixtures. The room is so small we are trying to maximize the space, plus I really need a whirlpool tub. I have lupus & hopefully it will help some. I'm not so worried about the tub being out of commission as the toilet. I have a few places to shower, I'm worried about the it's 2am & I gotta go right now. They say we'll be at least 3 days without the potty at least  and the nearest gas station is about a mile.........
We are lucky that we also have a powder room, so the toilet isn't the issue.

Good luck on your remodel. I'm glad my Tony isn't doing it for you! At least you know yours will get done

Last night, he worked on it for about 2 hours, and managed to only put up about 5 tiles. Oy

But I have to give him credit, he works anywhere from 10 -12 hours a day.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
Wishing you speed and good luck on the renos :D

when my kids were small I think I was the only one in the area that didn't have laundry tubs for a year or so and hubby was a plumber

I've already check into that. We have several hotels within a 5 mile radius and a few are pet friendly.
