Walking in the Summer

I continually see people walking their dogs on the 120+ concrete in the dead of summer. Is it true that if its too hot for your feet, it's too hot for your dogs? We live in Phoenix.

yes!! stand on the concrete without shoes or socks for 5 minutes....they have tougher bottoms but its still too hot...

in the summer we dont walk panda until the sun has mostly set...no way no how....the side walk is still retaining heat, but it has stopped baking....
We get to the 40's Celsius in summer and the ground does burn there pads. We try and walk in the cool of the morning or after the sun goes down.

During the worst part of the afternoon, I put socks on mine to go out to potty. They have to go over a brick pathed area to get to the grass and the area burns my feet in the scorching afternoon sun the dogs let me know if they need there sockies on to go potty in the afternoon. They won't walk on the patio area they just stand at the Laundry door with this look Hey Ma Hot Hot Hot where is my socks.
