he is CUTE
It is a kill shelter!
I'll call and check on him. Do any of the surrounding rescues have room?
The people at the shelter couldn't have been nicer. He's been at the shelter since the 16th. Owner turn in, wife didn't like him. The young man I spoke to didn't have exact info for me, but will have it later today.

He did say he's about 75-80lbs, 4-5 years old, and a really nice boy. He needs to be altered. More to follow.
Anyone have contact info for Dorothy here in SLC? I can help spring the little fellow, but won't be able to hold him for more than a week.
On my way to get Joe. His time at the shelter is almost up.

Owners say he' good with people, kids, and other animals.
Thank you SO much for saving this boy :D
The person listed on the rescue list for UT email came back to me rejected.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I will ask around.

pls keep us posted

How wonderful!!
Joe's a VERY lucky boy!

I wish I had rescue contacts out that way...
Good luck with getting Joe. You are wonderful! :D
Good luck. You all that do rescues are such an inspiration!
6 hours later, we have Joe. :D "She" is wonderful! Yup, that's right, Joe is a girl.

Joe is approx 5 years old, 60lbs, dark coat, and a tail. She is completely Sheepie. Miss Ellie hasn't growled at her once, and has even invited her to play! 8O She likes all people, kids, dogs, and cats.

She answers to her name, sits and will lay down on command. On the fun side, she is very playful. I don't know what her leash manners are yet. She is potty trained.

The owners chained her in the yard and forgot about her when the new baby arrived. So, she smells like a feed lot and has enough mats to keep me busy for a while.

She isn't a show dog, but somebody is going to get one great companion Sheepie.
OMG, you are wonderful!!!!! :hearts:
I see Joe is a she LOL.
I wasn't going to look on Petfinder that night.
I saw Joe & just thought, "oh, he will be okay"
Went back a second time & posted him on a whim.
I didn't think his time was that short.
Thank you so much for reading my post :hearts:
Wow! Thanks again! :D
Thank you for saving her!!
Thanks for the springing! :D

I'm trying to find contact info for Dorthy here in SLC. She helped place the sheepie turned in last year by the homeless man.

My husband thinks "Jo-Jo" is one really great girl, and could have a home with us. Unfortunately we can't add a permanent member to the herd right now.

So this morning our sweet guest will get a bath (the smell is like a feed lot in high heat), burr's and mats trimmed, and a brushing. Ellie doesn't mind her smell but Buff seems to be a bit offended. :? I think Buff has turned into a bit of a snob. :D

Once I get her spiffed up (I'm not a professional groomer, I only play one on TV), I'll post a photo.
wow what a cutie love the tail . wish i lived closer .. coming to fla??
What a cutie-pie! Thank you for springing her from the pound and saving this sweet girl's life. :clappurple:
Our little Jo-Jo will be leaving this Saturday. We had planed for her to be transported on two other occasions, but weather and several other issues kept her from going to CO rescue.

The delay has been good for Jo. She has gained a badly needed 5 lbs. Because she was tied outside all the time, her social/family skills were a bit rough when she arrived. Now, she waits for her food and eats at the same time in the kitchen with our Sheeps. She has figured out how to work with the pecking order, even though she is an Alpha gal.

Jo had little or no idea what play meant, whether with people or another dog. Today she brought a tear to my eye when she bowed to Miss Ellie and tried, albeit a bit clumsy in approach, to convince Ellie she should play.

Buff and Ellie have honed their pack social skills since Jo arrived. Jo is odd for an alpha gal. She refused to take crap from Ellie when she arrived. But, once Ellie got the message to back off, Jo lightened up, letting Ellie keep her dignity. Now, the girls seem to have reached an equality agreement. I'm not saying they are perfect together, after all they are both bitches and everyone can have an off day.

Buff stayed in the background the first two weeks while Jo figured things out. He watched everything she did. Jo has taught him to chill a bit, not to run and hide as quickly.

I'm thankfull we had the opportunity to foster Jo-Jo. She's a grand girl and we will miss her. It will be extremely hard to see her jump into someone else car on Saturday(hopefully she will wait to jump in when the door is open and not just the upper window. She is a great agility candidate 8O ), even though we know CO OES will do a great job finding her the perfect home.

Thanks for everything Jo-Jo.
Thank you for saving Jo-Jo's life!
Please keep us posted. :hearts: :clappurple:
It's such a learning and growing experience to foster a dog. You really can't quite imagine how your life will change until you've done it. Thank you for helping Jo get a fresh start. :D
We sent our foster girl Jo-Jo on the first leg of her trip to CO OES rescue. She will arrive in Colorado Springs tomorrow night after spending a comfortable night with a wonderful volunteer family on the western slope.

If you know anyone in Colorado that is looking for a pawsitively wonderful Sheepie, point them to CO OES and Jo-Jo.

We miss her already.
She's looking great
