Wisconsin - two young females

Wisconsin Rescue has two one year old sisters looking for (separate) homes. They're both incredibly sweet and wiggly, in the 50-55 lb range - they are not going to be large dogs, even fullgrown. Pretty little girls, actually.

They've both spent months in an allbreed rescue where they were exposed to all kinds of critters, including sheep. Both are very athletic and rumored to clear 4-5' fences, so a very tall fence or committment to leash walking is a must.

Maggie is the more outgoing one. Her ideal home would have her own flock of sheep, an agility obsessed person, or at least someone who's pretty darn active. She's a knee banger extraordinaire, and attention hog. She will chase cats.

Molly is a little doll, more timid than sister - not so much with people as with new things. She does not need her own flock of sheep and she will (probably) leave your cat alone (as in, she does mine), but she would like her very own lap without having to compete with her pushier sister to get there.

They both get alone well with other dogs though they can be a bit possessive of their food, and in Maggie's case, bones. They both crate well, ride in cars well and Molly walks nicely on lead (Maggie likes to alternate between trying to herd you and jumping up on you - I see obedience classes in both these girls futures  )They're not big chewers, but not 100% on the potty training yet, so require some vigilance. They're spayed and UTD on shots.

Wisconsin just got its own Petfinder site and we should have pictures of both of them up there in the next day or two.

It looks like we're getting two more sisters in this weekend, three year olds. Never a dull moment.

PM me for more info. I'll post updates and links as they become available.

Thanks!
Kristine

Boy, you weren't kidding - you really are excited about this!

Yes, by all means - have a party :cheer:

Kristine :D
OK OK OK OK!!!

We are going to have the privledge of fostering Molly!!!!!!!!

 :yay: :clappurple: :cheer:

I get to pick her up Saturday. She sounds like a sweetie. She seems a lot like Keira (who is also a rescue) in as much, as she is timid about new things.

Can't wait to meet the little girl!!!!
You know, Deb, it is actually customary for the rescue organization to be doing the happy-happy dance when someone like you is kindhearted enough to volunteer to foster (!!!)

So, on behalf of Wis. OES Rescue:

 :yay: :go: :clappurple: :go: :excited:

Thank you so much for doing this!

Kristine
Aw shucks

I think this is a win-win!
Yea Deb and Tony!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

Are these the girls that Jan was picking up after our OnionLoaf Fest? Here's hoping that Pirate and Keira fall madly in love with Molly, and you just can't bear to give her up.

Congrats Deb!

Laurie and Oscar
Yes, Laurie, they are! After Jan picked them up she called to tell me about them. She didn't say anything (at that time) about us fostering.

When she said the two were both females, I wasn't sure if I would consider it, because Keira is the queen...and then when she said one was named Molly (you all may remember my mean ol' Molly) I thought, Oh I hope she doesn't ever ask me to take THAT one!

But because this Molly is a very shy, gentle soul, Jan and I refer to her as the Anti-Molly!

Can't wait to meet her!
you guys are doing great work.. another one or 2 or 3 saved
How exciting Deb! 8)
Great stuf U2 Thx!

Zach
That's wonderful Deb! :clappurple:

HEY! HEY! No setting the foster home up for failing Foster 101!!!  We all know foster homes are worth their weight in gold.

There must be a term for that. Aiding and abetting? Nooo...Contributing to the delinquency of...yeah, maybe that covers it.

Just have fun with her, Deb. What does Mandy's line read: wherever the road may lead? Something like that.

Now to find a permanent agility home for her sister ...hm... :lmt:

Kristine
We will just take it one day at a time.

Kristine, I hope you don't mind, but here is the Sadie puzzle picture that you posted, of three lovely lasses, (from left to right) Maggie, who is still looking for a very athletic home (complete with sheep), Sadie, who is the proud owner of Jan Guthrie, and our "exchange student" and much anticipated guest, Molly.

Image

They are all so adorable!!!

Pirate and Keira are both excited about their new friend...and my upright kids are thrilled, and will probably skip out of a few college classes to visit her!
She's lovely!!
I am so excited for you. :D

Sorry... I know Kristine
But at least you'd be certain she found a great home... :D
so ADORABLE in their pup cuts!

Sadie looks beautiful! She has filled out so much since we saw her just a few months ago. Yea, JAN!

 I'm not worried, really

And, Deb - yes, of course posting the pic is fine. Why didn't I think of that?

KB
Deb - congrats on your new (foster) girl Molly. :D

She sounds like a real sweetie.
What a doll, so excited for you deborah, what's one more with the crew

Fostering Hmmmmm wonder if molly ends up staying :lmt:

Well done deborah look forward to hearing how she goes with the crew at home, all good is my tip. WOO HOO Molly :D
When do you pick up Molly? And when is the welcome home party????

If you flunk fostering, that's fine. If you don't flunk and Molly finds a furever, that's fine. It's a positive situation no matter what happens?

And Tony has put away his curmudgeon-ness to help this girl? No wonder you married him!!!!
I'm picking her up on Saturday. This is going to be a longgggggggg week!

Yep...Tony, in his own gruff way is excited. You know, well, I guess we'll need another crate. Well, I guess we'll end up with 3 dogs in bed in the morning. Well, I guess we'll have to buy MORE lint rollers with a third dog in the house.

Yep...he's really a great guy, with a huge heart. Just don't ever ask him to admit it
LOL, Deb, that sounds remarkably like Todd...
That Tony is a good egg. :D
What great news, Deb!! Molly is a lucky girl to be your foster dog! And I had to laugh at Kristine's statement about the rescue usually being the ones doing the happy dance to find an enthusastic foster home. Believe me, we'd be doing the happy dance if you were fostering for TOES.

Gotta love Tony's enthusiasm, too. What a sweetheart of a fellow.
I'm thinking we are the lucky ones! Although...we'll find out Saturday! Gotta admit...the name "Molly" scares me a bit!

Can't help TOES with fostering  but, I will continue to buy ornaments and candles for their Christmas scene.
I was looking at the picture and Maggie has the same expression that Simon aways has on his face. Its a funny intent look that means there is some fun going on around here and I HAVE to be involved. Congrats on the new "fosters" and go ahead and flunk(sorry Kristine). I can attest its more fun(and work) with two!!
Deb!
I'm so excited for you all!
Yay!!
:yay:
ME, TOO! ME, TOO! ME, TOO!

This is going to be a very long week, til Saturday!!!

(I wonder if Molly knows she is coming to our house. And that she will probably be spoiled rotten!)
Molly says it's high time she's spoiled rotten...she has no objections.

We are finally, many thanks to Jan G! set up on Petfinder. Little girls have a starring role

Yes, she is cute, but SHEESH, she's not the only cute rescue out there!!!

Maybe they'll all fall in love with someone else...

You're supposed to get her Saturday?
Remember that possession is 9/10s of the law.
Yep Saturday. I'm way too excited! I think I'm driving Jan crazy. Bless her heart.

Poor you, Kristine. You'll have me all to yourself on Saturday!!! And until then, you'll have to remind anyone who wants to see her that there are lots of other beauty pups out there!

I DO know just how you feel though. I'm literally shaking with excitement
and about ready to cry when it comes time to finally pick up a new sheepie...
never fails. Oh how we love this breed...
I will cry when I see her. I'm just made like that. I cried when we got Pirate, I cried when we got Keira.

I'm a crier. Go figure

Wish I could be there for the first meeting of Deb and Molly. Have fun! I'll be on my way to pick up the other two girls Brandy and Hiedi. My first official mission for rescue and I'm a bit excited.

Yes, and thank you, Sunny - I don't know how we would have managed without you.

Are you bringing SO? Having exposed him just about every other side of life with OES...

I admit I'm a little...not excited, but something - my first OES was named Heidi and she was rather timid and most assuredly afraid of men....Brandy sounds pretty down to earth.

Yay! That's wonderful. :D
Please let us know how things go.
Ahh yes, Will is tagging along, after I explained that not every dog's first home is like the one Luca and Ali get to enjoy(as crazy as it can be). So it's important that we step in when we can to try and make that happen for other deserving sheepies in some way shape or form.

I'm always happy to do what I can...sorry I can't foster at the moment...perhaps one day...once we find a larger house and yard and I've gotten Will conditioned to the idea

At any rate I will always be happy to transport if I can.
Sunny - transporting is really a lot of fun. :D
My little purple car and I and Breanna have logged SO many miles transporting bassets. We have been in WI and Iowa, and most of MN in between. I need to get the Element a bit more broken in - only a few transports for us since July! Of course, Bre is in school now, so I have lost my weekday roadtripping buddy. :(

I even have transported over and back from Milwaukee twice - that's a trip!

Deb - You have me laughing - I wish I was there too when you get to meet her.
Sunny! Hello darlin'! I feel like we are soul sisters in this mission! I hope we get to meet one day. I've done transport before, and yes, I fell in love! Heck! I fall in love with every OES I meet! And you have two girlies to bring!

I'm thinking, I'll call Kristine from my car...so she can get my camera and take pictures of me balling my eyes out, so y'all can make fun of me! NOT!

I don't know if any of you know Laurie...Oscar's mom. My husband Tony saw her husband today and told him about Molly, and how we are watching her til she finds a furever family. Laurie's husband said, you know that dog is never leaving your house. And my Tony said, "yea...I know."

When did these men get so damn smart!
Deb - Jan and Amy and I have all given up trying to protect you from failing Foster 101

If she stays, she'll be a very lucky dog and I hope she appreciates that!

I promise no compromising pictures. That's so you won't retaliate and take pictures of Che sleeping on the kitchen table or Sybil dangling from a light fixture

Doubly good for Mol to get out of her before she gets any ideas...

Kristine

Me too.

It's okay if you fail Fostering 101, Deb. Molly will be a lucky girl to be with you permanently. :P
27 hours...

But who's counting
LOL 8O
24 hours, Deb! How are you getting anything done at work today? :D

Angelo came home after seeing Tony and said that Tony is very realistic about the "foster" situation. 8)

Laurie and Oscar
Laurie, I'm just keeping really busy. I've really blown so much of this week at work, not being focused.

It's an exceptionally long Friday!
Wish I could be there!!! I WOULD take those compromising pictures
What a great license plate!
Good luck today Deb (and Kristine )!
Passing you a box of kleenex...

Passing you a box of kleenex...

Most kind, but no kleenex needed. At least not for Deb. Which is just as well since I was not paying attention when I stocked up last night, got my favorite kind with lotion, but it has Vicks too! Great if you have a cold. Otherwise...?

Both girls were timid at first, which surprised me. Sybil and Che made up for it by trying to climb up Deborah like she was a steep cliff...  After a little while Deb had Molly struggling to keep her eyes open thanks to Deb's puppy massage - I've never seen her so relaxed, it was really amazing.

Haven't heard how they're making out. Maggie trotted around looking for Molly for a bit, so I took her with Belle and Mad to the grocery store and she was soon too busy trying to figure out how to drag the grocery bags into the crate - typical sheepdog - to think about sis.

Hopefully Pirate and Keira provide a similar distraction for Mol.

Kristine - wondering how they're doing.

OH! We got three more dogs into rescue here in Wisconsin today - a 2 year old male and two 3 year old sisters. Yikes!
Oh Deb....how are you all doing???

Kristine - good they all mobbed her.
I am home with a migraine, and I must have moved while sleeping on the couch. 1st one foot, then 2, then I had Chewie sitting on top of me, giving me big slow kisses... what a sweet boy. :hearts:

What is going on in rescue land over there??? Yikes :(
Hi!!! It's us! What an incredible day! You all heard about the inital meeting. Well, I got Elizabeth (Molly) home, and it was such a non-event it was unbelievable! She and Pirate and Keira, just sorta walked in circles with each other. Very cool. Enter...the pussy cats! All the dogs went after them! Too bad for the pussy cats! They must not have minded too much, as everyone stayed in the kitchen with me.

Pirate did make some undertone graveling sounds, but I think he was just telling Elisabeth, I"M DA MAN HERE!

Please understand. Molly is fine name. In fact, we named mean ol' Molly, Molly, but I just can't call this sweet thang Molly! No disrespect to anyone.

Elizabeth discovered the floor to ceiling mirror in our powder room off the kitchen, and couldn't figure out who that gorgeous girl was! (HEE HEE) I have couple pictures that I need to upload and share.

She doesn't know sit or any other commands. So we started working on it. I lined up the trio, and had Pirate sit (cookie), Keira sit (cookie) and Elizabeth sit...sit...sit YEAH! Cookie for the new girl! I got her to do it three times! What a smartie pants!

She did have a couple pee pee accidents in the house. We then walked about about 20 minutes...no pee pee. We came home...PEE! (hee hee) She's new..she'll learn.

I took all three out, Pirate and Keira pee'd..and then...ELIZABETH PEE'd!!! She's brillant!

Tony looked at her, kissed the top of her head and said...Ok another one that isn't leaving.

So far...so good! She's a sweetie. We'll see what the next couple days bring.

Oh...I didn't cry when I saw her..because I'd been Sheepied kissed by so many of Kristine's dogs, I was overwhelmed! Kristine, I admire you so much! How the heck do you do it???

More reports to follow! PS...My friend just came over to meet Elizabeth. I of course poured a couple scotches. I looked away and turned back and Elizabeth WAS DRINKING MY CHIVAS AND LOVING IT! UT OH!
I've posted a few pictures of Lizzie (Molly) under the Pictures topic. She's a sweetie!
:cheer: Yay!! :cheer:

Deb, Glad to hear your little foster girl is settling in.
Hugs to Da' Pirate and Kiera for sharing their mum and dad! :hearts:
Awesome work, Kristine!! :yay:

:excited: :yay: This is sooooooooooooo exciting!!!!!!!!!!! Why didn't I know about this????

I am so happy for all of you Miz Lizzie and you Deb too. Oh, I can email you a dog obedience thing I put together for Heather's rescue if you'd like to!

I go check out your pictures now!
