Icky red ear wax?

Hi All,
Just wondering if any of you have encountered this...One of Maisey's ears, and only one, has like red wax in it...Kinda rusty-burgundy. She has had this since a puppy and we have had it checked by the vet, who says it is nothing. She had a yeast infection in that ear, but apparently it is not yeasty anymore and the vet says that it is definately not mites..
It also seems to be mostly in her black haired ear...Dunno if that has anything to do with anything... Any suggestions?
Allergies maybe?
I figure since the wax is a different colour that it must be a problem, but the other ear is white?!? Figured you guys would know best, and thanks again...I love being able to get help from other Sheepie lovers! You guys are AWESOME!!!

If it is definately not a yeast infection or ear mites causing the problem then sounds like she needs an ear flush out.

Firstly make sure no hair in the canal, if there is then buy an ear powder and pufff that in and pluck the hairs out with your finger. Easy and does not hurt them at all. Bio-groom has a wonderful one.

Then get an ear cleaning liquid from a pet supply place, squirt it in the ear, fill up the canal & massage it till it makes that sort of squishy sound then get some cotton wool swabs and as the fluid is coming out wipe with them. Will loosen the wax and clean out the canal completely. Repeat once a day the ear liquid till no more discharge and then use every so often for maintenace to keep the canal wax free.

Also with the ear powder, about once a month puff in and pluck the hairs out of both ears. They need the air to get in there and if hairy canals leads to problems so make sure the canals are Hair free also
My Bad.
I should have told you that I do pluck her ears and flush it with a solution that I got from the vet for after she bathes or swims or whatever. They gave her that the first vet visit when I freaked out and thought it was mites, $80.00 later they explain that she is on Revolution and that she does not have mites... 8O sometimes I am a loser!!!lol
Has this happened to anyone else? The red ear gunk I mean?
It is an ear infection and they never really go away (according to my vet) so ear maintenance is crucial. I was cleanning one of mine's ears this morning at 6 am as I was trying to rush out for work because I noticed it was a little "runny". It can be caused by allergies to food or getting water in the ear or probably a half dozen other things.

I have allergies my self and know that my ears easily are affected if I am off my meds and exposed to something I am allergic to. I am working on eliminating allergens from my dog's diet, but apparently I added something in during the last few weeks that is bothering her.
Yes Maizie has the same problem! too.. I took her to the vets and he said its not mites either He gave me some 'CleanAural ' If seems to be doing the job. But I did have maizie's ears plucked at the vet some time ago and since then shes had this problem. Before her ears where really clean but now she has this 'red Gunk 'wax. So im always trying to clean her ears shes not to keen on me plucking the hair but! she has to have it done!! :)
