Camera shy

Of our three sheepies, we have two who perk up when the camera comes out - and try to make sure you're getting them, and one who runs away as soon as she knows what you're doing.

We've had Lacy for nearly seven months...she hates, hates the camera. She makes tracks upstairs QUICK when she knows we're snapping. Aim and shoot camera, no big lens, no clicking - seems innocuous enough!

Of course, she's five years old and who knows what experience she had before, and this isn't the worst thing we have had to un-do with her...but no amounts of treats or bribing convinces her to stay for pictures! She did GREAT with Santa - GO FIGURE! Just not the normal, around the house pictures. Any tricks? I'd love to get a snapshot of all three actually awake!

We are working on that issue too - with Maggie the coonhound. She came to us at about a year old and had a horrible home - if you can even call it a home. She sees the camera pointed at her and she slinks away. The few decent photos I have of her are caught before she notices me or when she is sleeping. Maggie has been here a year now.

Progress is slow. One thing that has helped is taking pictures outside playing with the other dogs. I talk in a happy voice and praise all of them lots. Digital cameras are great, as you can delete all the goofy ones that are blurry. Getting her caught up in playing and giving her lots of positive feedback is slowly helping.
Good luck with Lacy. It really is sad having dogs afraid of the camera. :(
i always take pandas picture with a cookie either in my hand or on top of my head......that way she always looks at the camera :D
That's Lucy, too. All pictures I have of her are sneak attacks, "spy" photos or when she's too exhausted to move. It's weird because she's actually gotten worse about pictures as she's gotten older. Sometimes I don't think that she's afriad of the camera, she just wants to mess with me. ;)
Our first OES, Newman, used to charge at us like a barking lunatic as soon as we took a photo. Frank & Haggis are great about photos getting taken, but Rebecca always thinks we're up to something and sometimes resists.
