Hanging water bottle

Some of you may have read about our crate training issues and I thank you for all of your advice. Luke seems to be doing much better in the crate now. I just have a quick question though. The water bowl in his crate always ends up upside down and so of course there is water everywhere. Would anyone recommed using one of those hanging water bottles? I have seen them in petsmart/petco and am just not sure how well they work.

I use the hanging water bottle for my Shih Tzu, but I have never tried one with my OES. I use stainless steel buckets with a clip and hang that inside the crate for the sheepdogs. Works Great!
I used a large hanging water bottle when Marlye was crates- it was square not round - it worked well. she had no problem figuring it out.
how much water should we leave my sheepie during the day? because after his first meal, he then would be crated until my fiance's brother is back from school at around 4 - 5 to let him have his duty resolved, i saw a 64 oz bottle, would that be enough to last a couple of hours?

and when i do so, do i have to put ice in the bottle so that the water doesn't hit the bladder that fast?
