RE: 4 yr. old male oes in Dallas

Not sure how to go about getting the word out and don't have time to research right now, but just saw an OES on Craigslist in Dallas.

I am hesitant to put the e-mail address since it is a home e-mail address and not the impersonal link. Easily found on Dallas Craigslist under pets. Dec. 29.

I have emailed the owner - will try to talk her into contacting rescue. Also, there were so many people who contacted me wanting Leo when I rescued him in the Dallas area a couple of months ago - I will let them know as well.
Well, she took the posting down but never did respond to me...so hopefully she's found a good home for him or contacted a rescue.
Update - I am picking this guy up tomorrow. His name is Chap and the owner doesn't feel like she can handle him in the house with a toddler, so he's coming home with me. I would like to keep him but I'm committed to being realistic and seeing how it goes with three - so he's really a foster that I hope to fail at fostering. :)
Wow, sounds like fun. :D How is Chap doing?
Let us know how he is when you pick him up. :D

Oops - misread that one. I see you are getting him today! Good luck . :D
Well! Chap is here and boy is he a beautiful dog! He has more hair now than this picture - this was from his family. I'll post more later on.

Chap had truly lovely owners who took fabulous care of him....they just were not able to manage his INTENSE herding of their toddler, so he recently went from almost exclusively inside to spending all his time outside because he was constantly knocking the baby down. They love him so much - they knew he wasn't happy away from the family so they often took him to her family's place in the country where he could play. But, on the last visit he knocked down her dad while playing (grampa got a broken leg out of that one), they just felt like they couldn't have him around the older people or the youngsters....so they decided to find a good home for him. He's micro-chipped, all vet records, beautifully groomed, perfect teeth, came with all of his toys, leashes (even a Christmas leash!), harness - heck they were better sheepie parents than me!

They cried and hugged and loved on him - I am not judging them poorly at all for coming to the realization that this was just not the right time in their lives to share with Chap. They get so much credit for trying to do good by their dog - all dogs should be so lucky.

So now he is with me, my other two sheepies and my brood of two-legged kids. He is still very "puppy" for a 4 year old. But what a great dog....my original intention was to just foster and find him a good home, but he's so lovely, I feel like I won the lottery...I don't believe he'll be going anywhere. :)
That sounds like they were truly concerned owners for their dog.
Chap sounds like a good fellow and I hope he settles in with your family well. I can't wait to see new pictures of him and them all together. :D
I'm so glad this worked out well. I also got the feeling that his family was really out for the good of their dog/family, not just trying to pawn him off because of selfish reasons. I get that impression from the other ad. that I posted as well. Sure wish I was in the position to have more than 1 sheepie. : (
Oh, he is beautiful. And look at that smile!
How could I missed this thread? Chap is so beautiful and you are such a wonderful person to take him in! See, this is why I'm scared of fostering...I don't think I could ever let them go.
That's fantastic! I'm glad you've got Chap. Sounds like you've got some obedience classes in your future. :D
