New Years Resolutions

Anyone made any? I tend to stay away from them. They put too much pressure on me. Although last year I declared 2007 the year of good physical and mental health.

Last year, I lost a lot of weight and started working out, so instead of a resolution, I'm planning on a continuation, of good physical and mental health. If I could do it last year, I can certainly do it again this year!

My resolution is to stay in better contact with my friends. Weeks pass and I mean to call people and life gets in the way, so I'm resolving to be better about being more consistent in talking to my friends!
im kind of a combo of steph and deb....be healthier and stay closer to my friends!!
Oh Steph, I'm the worst when it comes to making phone calls. I love my friends and family, and I think about calling them all the time, but just when it isn't possible (ie:work).

Then I get home, and totally forget, because I'm usually so done for the day, I just can't do another thing. And THEN! so much time has passed since I've called, that I'm embarrested to call! UGH!

I'm with ya on that one!

The three of us should make a point to call each other!

You betcha!!!!!
:ghug:
My New Year's resolution is to teach Harry to SIT when he is off leash. He knows this but thinks it is totally optional.
I have several, but the main one is to lose the 30 pounds that I didn't lose last year. Although I did quit smoking, so I have something to be proud of.

The others have to do with mental health, the family, etc.

Paula, I know I've told you before, but quitting smoking is HUGE!!! Next to that, losing weight (once you get past the not smoking part) is easier!
I am joining millions of other Americans in resolving to lose weight - although I am going about it by actually resolving to start a running program (with one of the dogs) and a more consistent biking program (with the other dog).
I guess I am with Deb, I don,t call freinds or family much. but I will not make that one the New Year. I have enough to deal with. I just would fail and feel worse.

Deana
I've been so busy with holiday preparations that it was just this morning that it dawned on me that I haven't given any thought at all to New Year's Resolutions yet. :twitch: I guess I'd better start thinking. :lmt:
I have a lot of them

1- House renovations....dont just start them, finish them!

2-Learn to use the italics function...^^^ok, done!

3-Work on various improvements to my art business...keep the website updated better, create an E-Bay store, start utilizing my mailing list ...etc, etc

4-Work on Bert's obedience training.

5-And, yes...keep in better touch with friends....can I add my # to your guy's lists?? :plead:
Yep! :ghug:

We could be like that phone tree that the schools use!

Y'all will be so proud of me! Last night I sat down and called:

1. My Aunt Horty
2. My stepmom Bernice
3. My friend Harlene
4. My cousin Rosalie.

It was really nice talking to all of them. I don't know why I can't do it more often!

What great names your friends/family have!

Oh, I added a new one to my list...to be as eco-friendly/conscious as I can be. This might mean cloth diapers! 8O

I loved the names too!

LeAnne is strongly leaning to cloth diapers too. :D

I used them years ago  One thing I did love, was the diaper liners. They are disposable. If they were just wet, I could wash them a time or 2 - right with the diapers. Or, if they got pooped on, you just lifted the poop and liner out and the mess was gone!!

We used disposables for going on trips, but cloth pretty much all the time otherwise. Now they have so many new cloth options, they really are easy to use. :D
 Yep...my family has pretty unusual names from the previous generation. My mother and her siblings were:

Mosha
Schlome
Nahoma
Minnie
Shona (my mom)
Sarah

Very old Jewish names. They (thankfully) modernized our generations names.

My cousin's son just had a baby, and named him, Zane Zapler. Zapler is our family name. I think we are a little odd
My friend Harlene is a hoot. Tony NEVER calls her by the right name. He calls her, Marlene, Charlene, Darlene or Carlene. Yes, its intentional, but it still is funny, and she doesn't mind.

I'm trying to figure it out. I'm not sure daycares accept cloth diapers, so I might do cloth at home, disposable at daycare, but I don't know if that works or not...

Deb, I think anyone named Harlene has to be a hoot!

Check into the daycare not taking them. If you get lucky and find one that will that would be awesome. I am hoping I can find one that does. I was planning to use a home based one and not a center so I am thinking that my chances will be better :)

Also they make biodegradable disposable diapers too (found some at Target). My sister-in-law tried them. She liked them but if you have a heavy wetter they don't absorb as much. She uses regular ones at night.

I am also resolving to be more eco-friendly. And to hopefully get into better shape after baby. I am going to add yoga classes to the budget this year

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to use a center/school-based daycare (home based ones make me nervous), so it might be difficult to find. I've only toured one so far and I was just so out of it (between morning sickness and just overwhelmed in general) that I couldn't think of any questions to ask them. But I'm pretty sure that they'd only take disposable.

I'll have to check Target out. I haven't really looked at really any specifics of anything yet (furniture, diapers, clothes, etc) but I guess I should start at some point!
