How many christmas trees can you buy in 1 year?

Here is my tree for this year. It is our 3rd (this year) Yes you read that right.

First we found a 14 foot artificial tree on craigslist for $225.00 the tree was pre lit with 4000 lights.... Great right ? Wrong!
We forgot about JUNIOR  ! He seen the tree (this is his first Christmas) had no idea what it was and ran into it full force. 8O
You can see we put our tree in front of the big windows, well Junior about put the tree through the window and when a 14 foot tree comes down ~WATCH OUT ! :sidestep:

Well back to craigslist ...I re~sold the tree for the price I paid and went and brought a 8 foot live tree.....TILL, our daughter tells us her very best friend in the world( Can you here it like a 18 year old would say it  ?) Is deadly allergic to live trees and cant come in our house forever!!!!.... :lmt: (That may not be so bad)

SO..back to the drawing board. So I put a add on craigslist (again) this time to find a family in need of a tree (since now I have one I cant use) .
That was the best and worst thing I could have done. I must have had 20 reply's wanting the tree. 'Best' since I felt so good to be able to help someone to have a little bit of a better Christmas but on the other hand 'worse' since it was so had to pick who I would give the tree to. :(

NOW ,I find a amazing woman and her 6 year old who could really use the tree, See her husband died the day before thanksgiving and she now has nothing. My husband and I brought the tree to her after I spoke with her for a while on the phone (long story but, My God her situation broke my heart) As I told my husband "There but for the grace of God go I" we also went a got a few dollars on a gift card for her to go get something for her 6 year old for Christmas.

OK ...Now I feel soooo bad since one other family had truly touched my heart,we went a brought them a tree TOO. I came back home and got as many ornaments and lights that I could find(they had nothing at all) and brought it all to them... I have got to say They have 3 kids and I have never meet such happy and grateful children in my life.

Now back to craigslist for a tree for us, and surprise the perfect tree for sale just for ME! Pre lit 2000 lights, 8 foot (Junior safe) white tips and whit pine cones attached for $200..... I just love it ! :hearts:

Just because you have a high ceiling, doesn't mean you need a giant tree...sheepie was just reminding you. This is beautiful......and your charity towards those less fortunate is so admirable. As for your 18 year old.......they do grow up.....eventually. Hang in there!

Your tree looks beautiful!
Haha! Very touching about the families without, it must have been very hard to choose from 20ish people who needed a tree!
Have a lovely Christmas :ghug:
Clearly Junior was "barking at the wrong tree."

That's a nice, heartwarming story. Thank you for sharing.

...and thank you for sharing the story with us, too.
Your tree is beautiful and so is your generous heart!
That was a really sweet story! That was really nice of you to bring two families a tree :D

Good boy Junior!
That is quite the Christmas tree story. I know the 2 families will remember your good deed and hopefully repeat it to someone else later on.
The tree you have now looks beautiful, so it was all worth it!
:plead: Can you come decorate my house?

Beautiful tree and yes, a beautiful heart too! Why exactly does he not like the 14' but is OK with the 8'?

I don't know what Junior did not like about the 14 foot tree but here is the only picture I took of it before J.R ran it OVER. 8O

Maybe it was just tooooo big and he felt threatened.

Dawn It is funny that you mentioned that cause both family's said they wish they could do something for me and I said some day when things are better for you just 'Pay it forward.' Both family's will someday if they can ,I know they will.

Little did either family know that they did more for me than I did for them . It reminded me what Christmas is really about. They made my heart smile. :hearts:

Merry Christmas everyone !

Antoinette
what a wonderful person you are Antoinette, you have the real spirit of christmas :ghug:
:D By the way, both trees look great!
Hi Antionette,

I kept thinking about your story since you posted it and thought it must have meant to be. You see.. your sheepie must have known that in that special Christmas karma that others needed a tree.. and so the wheels were set in motion regarding the first tree...which led to you providing those families that desperately needed a tree. You were their angel that came through for them and show them the spirit of Christmas, sharing, thinking of others lives on. I loved your story! Playing it forward is what it's all about and makes the world a happier place. Thanks for being one of the good people out there.

Marianne
:hearts: What a nice Christmas story!
This junior knows what he wants and how generous of you to give them away.
I like both trees - wonderful X-mas-trees! :D
You ended up with a beautiful tree and the blessing of knowing you helped two families enjoy a wonderful Christmas that would not have been possible without your generosity. Sounds pretty close to perfect if you ask me.
