Our Christmas Wish Came True!!

All I wanted for Christmas when someone asked me, was for for the last of the kittens to get a forever home. It's too lenghty to get into but every single weekend I'm at the spca shelter with my foster kitties in hopes they got adopted. It means I have to set up pens in the hallway or staff room.

They all had Upper Respitory so couldn't go back into the regular shelter cages as kittens, seniors and those under stress a subseptible to getting the kitty flu or they may pass it on to the others. It's easily treatable but the shelter was especially hit hard this year. I brought home the original 10 from the Isolation Room which was overflowing with cats in order to make more room for the others who were becoming ill.

The saddest day for me was aprox 3 wks ago when I found every single cat in isolation had been put down in order to get it under control. I tried to comfort myself that I had at least managed to save 10 plus 5 previously. It's why I never said no when asked if I would foster a cat from Isolation.

Still it was difficult as the foster cupboard had been bare for months and I had the additional expense of now another 10 mouths to feed. Slowly since the middle of October, my fosters have got adopted. I kept senior boy Roger, Petunia, the special needs kitten and now only have one senior left in my home.

Mousey the tiny b/w kitten with the pink nose due to circumstances kept missing out and all I wanted was for her to have a forever home for Christmas. She was nearing 4 months and had to compete with smaller kittens and time and time again was overlooked. Even 2 days ago a family came over to view her but then viewed a tinier kitten at someone else's home and chose that one instead. I thought that was the last chance of finding a home for Mousey before Christmas.

She even asked Santa Paws for a forever home

A few weeks ago I met a woman and her 8 year old daughter that loved Mousey but they already had a big kitty at home who disliked other cats. They were both attending a youth function at the shelter and our paths crossed.

Last night I got a call and found out sadly their kitty died unexpectedly the day after I met them, and the little girls wish for Christmas " I wish I could have that b/w kitten with the pink nose, wearing the pink collar with the bell". Both mom and daughter thought Mousey would have been adopted by now but with special Christmas Karma..both Mousey and the little girl got their Christmas wish.

They just came over moments ago to pick her up and all of us shed a few tears and the feeling of awe that perhaps this was all meant to be.

I think Santa Paws contributed to that special magic

I am so happy that the little girl got her favorite kitty!
That Santa Paws is just the craziest. He is so photogenic - I think you could get him some modeling jobs on the side. He would be a great spokesman and fundraiser for the rest of the animals in need. :D
AWWWWWWWWWW, what a sweet story.

What a cutie Mousey is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
