Happy Hannukah!! (Yeah, I had to be different...lol)
I think I may have to go to the store to get some stuff for Latkes.
I am totally craving them. I would take you up on your invitation, but it's a bit far.
A warm and happy celebration from one who doesn't to one who does!!
:D Happy Chanukah! I remember wonderful celebrations when I lived in England near my Jewish relatives!
Happy Chanukah/Hannukah!! (why are there 2 spellings??)

May you all be blessed with family, love and bellys filled with latkes!!!!

He he! There are more than two spellings. More like many spellings.
I don't know why. :?
Elissa,

Get in the car now...you can make it here by sundown. Too bad it's not the weekend. I will be thinking of you and your family though.

(Raising my hand and shaking my arm all around!) I KNOW, I KNOW! Because its really spelled with Hebrew letters, so the translation can be either way. Cuz actually, they are both wrong! (Putting my hand down and stuffing a latke in my mouth.)
so if they are both wrong...what is the right way???

and please pass me a latke.....
 I don't have Hebrew font to do it correctly.

(Passing the latke platter)
Here are some variations Darce.... You asked for it.

May you Deb and all others celebrating this Festival have a joyous time!
No disrespect, but I can't help but think of Adam Sandler at this time of year:

If Ryan wasn't in school all day, I just might have showed up.
Boldog חנוכה!!!!!! :D (Just mixing some Hungarian with Hebrew)
I am making Latkes and brisket for myself. My husband will eat it, but the kids don't like it...there would have been plenty for you Elissa. We can make them whenever we do get together...doesn't have to be Chanukkah.
Happy Hannukah

I just got back from the store and will be making Latkes (from the box) and a Pot Roast in the crock pot, couldn't find a brisket. Got a yummy Apple Pie for Dessert.

Nita, darlin'! I LOVE :hearts: THAT! OJ Simpson...NOT A JEW!! HA HA!
Thank you!

Ron, I did my own singing tonight. Pirate liked it...Keira ignored me, and the cats ran!

We had the traditional (?) roasted chicken. Oh well...when you work all day, chicken is great. We'll do a big brisket on the weekend. OH! And did I mention, my cousin invited us to a Martini and Latke party on Sunday? I can picture Darcy running to convert as I type this!

Each of you are little Chanukah gifts to me! Thank you  !

Shalom!
Warm wishes for a Happy Chanuka.

can I get in on the latkes???

Happy Chanuka! Boy, those latkes sure look good :)
Happy Chanukah! After all these years I still haven't chosen the spellling that I like best.

My calendars each said first night of the holiday was on a different night, so I confirmed with neighbor who was on the phone last night. I already turned the Xmas tree on and freaked out that the neighbors would all be snickering that I didn't have my menorah in the window too. At 8:30pm I put up our electric menorah. Hmmm..I hope I lit the correct light. I seem to forget that every year too :D

Celebrating two religions in our house can be tiring, but fun!

This is an older picture on the very last night of holiday, see 8 lights.

Deborah, did you wear your Hanukkah socks?????

I like Hanukkah spelt with an "h." It just looks right to me.

I hope you all enjoyed your latkes and brisket and chicken.
Stacy! That picture is gorgeous!!!!!!!!

And yes, Paula! I have my Chanukah socks on. They are so cute! Thanks again.

I brought in Chanukah cookies, and "gelt" (chocolate coins) for the woman who work for me. They think I'm nuts, but that's ok. Our owner is Jewish, too...so they really can't say anything about me!

Tonight we're having the traditional Chili!! Not Chanukah tradition, but SNOW STORM tradition!

Be safe, stay warm, and once again,
HAPPY CHANUKAH!!!
Happy Hannukah, Deb & all of our other Jewish members! :D
Happy Hannukah to all those who celebrate from one who wishes she did. :D

My Latkes were delicious, so that's one recipe I'll be keeping and repeating. :P
Happy Chanukah from Barney, Maggie and me. I have a friend of mine that married a Jewish man. I asked her what they celebrate. She said "Both --double the fun."
George, Tony and I celebrate both, but on the years we don't go to his family, our Christmas and Chanukah celebrations are combined.

Its fun for me, because before we married (4 years ago) my kids and I had never celebrated Christmas!

Oh...and Pirate's birthday is Dec. 25th...so we really party!
I am SO at that latke and martini party....sigh.....none of MY jewish friends cook....they do take out...so i get nuthin' good....although laurie does a mean chinese takeout...
Happy Chanukah!!
