Christmas Shopping, I know I'm already behind

I'm disappointed. I had hoped to have so much more done at this point, considering I have to mail more than half of the gifts I buy.

I've bought only four gifts so far and I'm completely unmotivated to wrap them. And, I actually like to buy gifts. :lmt:

I need a motivation pill.

Please mail me one of those little pills..............

I am farther behind than you.........ZERO presents...........ZERO wrapping paper.............ZERO decorating...............ZERO motivation.................(i'm waiting till tomorrow)
I'll have one too please!!!

I'm usually finished by now but I still have loads to do and only 3 weeks left..... 8O
Me too, please. :D I have decorated the inside, minus the tree, and am planning to do the outside tomorrow. But, as for gifts, I'm really behind. I think I've at least figured out what to buy, I've just got to find time to go do it.

I bought TONS of wrapping paper after Christmas last year at Hallmark. I love their wrapping paper. :D Pretty paper, pretty ribbons!! :D

I've got to wrap all the gifts for my Girlfriends book club meeting this weekend, too. Whew...I'm getting tired just thinking about all I've got to accomplish this weekend. :phew: Tis the season!! Hohoho!!! :yay:
While I am finished minus finding a gift basket for grandmother in law.... I've been wrapping gifts ALL week. I HATE doing that when there are so many then dealing with the post office. I can only take a few at a time b/c of J and would feel much better if the weather wasn't sooooooooooooo cold.

Hope you get it all done soon! Don't forget to send me a lil something :P
The decorations are up. Well, almost all of them. One present bought. One present that I bought a few years ago and put away was found. So 2 presents. And neither are wrapped.

We are not slackers! It's not even December 1st!!!!!!
I'm about halfway there for Christmas but James's birthday is a few days before Christmas and I haven't even started that part yet. I hate the gift double whammy!
im pulling the poor cancer me card.....

im letting lisa buy everything for our family and im writing her one check......

brian takes care of the kids gifts and our gift to each other is a new bedroom set....if i can ever find one that we both like and he doesnt veto because of price :?
GOOD FOR YOU DARCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm DONE DONE DONE.........well ALMOST done. I have to pick up Doug's gift and order my Dad's but the rest is done done DONE.

My internet orders are starting to arrive and my front porch looks like the loading dock at Sears. I ordered a bunch of stuff from Macy's and find their shipping practices appalling. They have shipped practically everything seperately and in boxes practicaly 20 times bigger than needed. One box had a metal and plastic garlic press wrapped in miles and miles of bubble wrap in a box that could have held 100. It's not breakable for goodness sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still have grandma, but I just finished wrapping birthday presents for my husband AND lil J which we plan on celebrating the 2nd of Feb b/c the grandparents will be here. Even ordered supplies and Wiggles cake! Horrible timing to have a party due to the new baby that BETTER BE BORN BY THEN... so I'm just trying to make it easier!
Me too! ZERO! and no desire. Gift cards this year?? Can you buy them on line ??

Susan, you remind me of the grandmother who had so many kids, grandkids & great grandkids to buy for that last year she just decided to send everyone a card with money it and be done with it.

Well, sometime in March she found all the Amex gift cards she'd purchased to go into the cards. She was lamenting her error to her niece who told her not to worry, lots of people send cards without money in them.

Grandma said, Yeah, but I bet they didn't write in the cards "this year you can buy your own gift".

Oh poor Grannie, but that really is funny. "....go buy your own gift!"

I share your pain. Todd's birthday is January 4th.

The grandma story is great. I was laughing so hard Todd said "honey, you are scaring me!".

This is how I feel as well, but I don't even want to go online and look for gift cards either :D We'll end up in the gift card aisle of the grocery store. My motivation level seems to get lower every year and the pressure seems higher. I haven't even made a list of people to give to this year so it's even worse than ever before. At least last year I actually made most of my gifts. I really just don't enjoy guessing what someone else might enjoy or need. I hate shopping even for myself as I just get overwhelmed and pissed when I don't find anything and feel like I've wated my time. Bah Humbug!

We are doing something new this year with Steve's siblings which was MY SUGGESTION...I'm so proud :D In the past, we write our name and a few gift items we'd like (that's easy enough to shop anyway) on a piece of paper and pick a name. This year we wrote down a charity we'd like $ to be donated to in our family name. Steve's brother who is still single living at home said, "Can you donate to my own personal charity?" Since he put up a fuss we compensated and said write down a donation and a small gift items...Wouldn't you know, this partying type guy only wrote down a charity...Public Radio...Hmmm...

Steve's sister is figuring out what to do for the parents. For Hanukkah, I bought my Mom a nightgown and a yummy smelling soap at a craft show...I already gave it to her, the two of us can never wait :D

Tammy, that is hilarious. I'll bet everyone wondered when grandma became so sarcastic!
