Mitchell, my rescue OES

I got Mitchel 3 months ago as a foster dog, but found he had a serious health problem and the group I work with decided he was non adoptable, so I decided to keep him.
He is 6yr old and has severe arthritis in his back, I have to help him to stand up and also up and down stairs, luckily he only weights 78# he should be more like 90+# but it helps when I lift him in and out of the car. When I take him for a walk he can go for miles and he is a favorite at the local kindergarten with all the kids.
I have three other dogs and he gets on good with all of them, he is my first OES and I just love him.

So you flunked fostering, eh? That's a GOOD thing!!! Thank you for adopting Mitchel--I can tell how special he is to you.
Oooooh! That is fabulous that you've made him part of your family. :D
Has the vet prescribed any glucosamine or chondroitin supplements to possibly help with the arthritis? He's a handsome sheepie-boy and we look forward to hearing more about him and his furry "siblings".
Welcome from a fellow Minnesotan! :D Where are you at in MN? - I am near Mankato.
Your Mitchell looks like a handsome boy. Foster failure is a wonderful thing. :)
Way to go....thanks for taking Mitchel into your home and your heart..
The vet prescribed Rymadil(sp) for his arthritis, I also give him K9 buffered aspirin.
I live in Coon Rapids, MN.
Mitchell being non adoptable worked out great for me and my family, he fits right in, not so good for the Rescue group I work with as having 4 dogs is my limit.

thanks everyone for the welcome.
Welcome from sunny Florida! 8) Mitchell is adorable! I am looking forward to hearing stories of Mitchell and the others.
Congrats on failing Fostering 101. :D Sounds like things worked out great for Mitchell. Thanks for adopting him and giving him a loving home. He's a cute boy. :D
thanks to you , one less oes in need!! you are a true angel for keeping him
Yea for Mitchell! Congrats on your new addition! (If you are giving him Rimadyl, you might want to talk to your vet about adding Pepcid AC every morning. The Rimadyl can cause ulcers, which can be prevented by the Pepcid.)

Welcome to the forum!

All I have to say is that Mitchell is the luckiest dog in the world - :D
Welcome and thank you for adopting Mitchell!
I'll add my thanks too. He looks like a cutie. Good job.
Welcome, and my thanks as well for adopting this handsome boy! :D
I failed fostering once too, due to an old guy. Don't kid yourself though, there is always room for one more. Congrats on your new addition, the old ones really pull at the heart strings. I would like to add my thanks too. I said there was only room for two sheepies at my house. Now I have two of my own and a few weeks ago I had a 10 month old foster sheepie and a 4 year old foster beardie. There is ALWAYS room for one more
Thank you for adopting!

Mitchell looks like a very happy boy with his new fur-ever home.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
 :cheer: :go:
What a handsome guy :) . Have you thought about milk thistle for liver support? I had a cancer boy who was on dermaxx for several years and it helped him.
Yay for Mitchell :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
congrats on your new addition. you just made his life complete and he will do his best to make yours the same.
