1st Agility class

What fun I had and Simon LOVED getting all the treats. First we jumped over the obsticles and that was a piece of cake, next was the weave poles...little harder. Simon didn't have any trouble following my hand but I was having trouble walking backward and getting the leash over the poles and getting Simon to follow my hand. Next we did the tunnels...hard. Simon DID NOT want to go through, no way, no how. Started out really short and the instructor held Simon and I called him and that was ok but when the tunnel got longer..no way was he going through. There are only three dogs in the class and one of them was doing it over and he loved the tunnels so we had him go through first with Simon right on his heels and that worked. WOOHOO! Did that a few times and Simon went through on his own, through the short and the long. Tomorrow I'm going to Kmart to buy a tunnel and see if we can do this as home. Before we went to class, we went to the dog park for an hour and a half so I could tire him out a little and that worked great so that is going to be the plan from here out. I enjoyed the class and I think Simon liked it too.

YAY, SIMON!!!!

A lot of dogs who start out suspicious of the tunnel at first become absolute tunnel fiends. Don't worry about it.

Laika and I started class a few weeks ago. She does the tunnel great, over the walk like nothing. Teetertoter thing whatever! But the box she has to lay on forget about it! She will stay forever but she she just won't lie down have to pull her legs out to get it done. She knows down! silly girl!
