Black Friday Shopping

Has anyone found any really good deals worth getting up tomorrow and going shopping? I was shocked at the low number of salespapers this year. No ads for Target, Sears, Macys or Kohls.

So if anybody finds any really good deals let me know.

I think that your paper is goofy if you didn't get ads for those stores because they were the biggest ones in our paper!
I plan to be at Kohl's at 4AM tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
I'm staying at home and watching movies!
Yeah, Wyn, I think someone stole your ads!

There are tons of online Thanksgiving Days sales and I already got an amazing amount of shopping done in the last hours.

Check out www.slickdeals.net and people are listing new deals all over the Web constantly. (But that won't prevent me from going out tomorrow, too!)
Stay in bed girl and take it easy.
Eat lots of Turkey, light the candles and watch a good movie.
Nothing out there to fight over. There will be other sales later.
Kiss your sheepies from me and sheepie hugs and kisses from
Sara C. and Marlowe
They said the ads weighted 2lbs, so I would say you missed some ads and yes there was a Kohl's Ad. Good luck to everyone shopping tomorrow have a great time. 8)
Went to my sister's house to eat T-day food and discovered her paper had all the sales papers in it. Hmmmm wonder which one of the neighbors helped themselves...... :lmt:

best of luck to you..

ps...ginny, i think youre absolutely NUTS to go anywhere at 4 am.... (besides the potty and back to BED!)
Ginny, what in heaven's name is at Kohl's that is worth going there at 4am? Are they selling diamond bracelets for a dollar??????

The local mall is opening at midnight tonight. Last year was the first year they did it and said it was the most profitable day ever.

For the first time in a decade I'm taking tomorrow (the day after Thanksgiving) off. I'm going to the library and in the afternoon Rita and I are gong to see Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (yes, we are 12) then going to Steak 'N Shake. Ginny, I'm having a steakburger and fries. Can you feel my arteries hardening??????
NO WAY! I do my Christmas shopping via computer. Tomorrow our beekeeper friends have an open house and we get our year's supply of honey and beeswax products. They live south about 45 miles......we'll be going opposite the traffic!! BTW, their house is built like a bee comb, multi little rooms with individual capped roofs. yes, old hippies.

Me too. I go to Kohl's once a year-- the day after Thanksgiving. They really slash their home goods and stuff like that, making it the only time that I think it's worth it to go! I don't go to bed, get there at 4 and I'll be back in bed before 6. Easy!

The year before last, I got a $400 carpet cleaner for $115 and last year I got a $250 down comforter for $50. They always put all their toys, like Barbie and Fischer Price stuff, on sale for 50% off or more. I buy stuff for my nieces and I can get them a lot of stuff for those prices. They're at that age where they love those girly toys and it's so fun to watch them open stuff. I also feel like my one niece doesn't get enough stuff for Christmas so I try to make sure she gets tons of stuff from us.

I do find that other than the kids and an occasional off item, I think I spend more on myself, though. Merry Christmas!
:D Has anyone bought anything through Black Friday.com?
Good luck, shoppers. My brother is out in the cold without me... I am just not well enough to do this this year, which is strange, I thought I was improving. I guess not. I am so sad...

He promises me a laptop if he doesn't decide to keep it for himself! lol
He "forgot" his promise... no laptop for me. :(

But I couldn't help myself... I went out about 5:15 got gasoline, got in line at Staples at 5:30, went to buy stuff (bypassing a laptop  ). I started with the paper shredder and the printer and realized I couldn't carry this stuff but I didn't take a cart, so I took those two to the register and paid in about 5 minutes.

Then I went back into the store with a carriage and bought the little stuff that I wanted (how backwards is that?). This time there were about 15 people in front of me with a cashier who was stumped by everything -- every payment method, every signature... she must have been totally new) and a register that kept crashing. Still I was home before 7AM.
<yawn> You guys make me tired just talking about Black Friday! All the traffic and lines in the stores. <yawn> :D :D :D

I am sitting in the den with Max snoring at my feet. Drinking coffe, watching the Waltons with one eye, and reading the forum.

I applaud all of you with the courage to tackle the crowds. Good luck!!
Yesterday, when we got the paper, my daughter studied the ads. She then announced, she was depressed because there weren't any really good "door busters" this year. So no shopping for us!

Wyn, you can look up their ads on line.
The dogs got me up at 5:15, apparently they have a mental link with Ron!! So I watched an episode of SVU, ate some pizza, unloaded the dog show stuff from the car and was in Target by 7:10. I only live 5 minutes from the major shopping complex, geez I love the suburbs!!!
I hit 5 stores, bought some presents and a couple of decorations and was back home by 9:15.
I'm preparing to nap now!
My best friend's crazy family starts at 4am and goes until all of their shopping is completed or the stores close! They are nuts and I call them frequently all day to remind them of that!!!
I worked all night, and checked out the flyers. I agree, there really weren't that many good specials this year.
I did decide I needed to replace my carpet shampooer that bit the dust many months ago. One store had them for almost half price - they were $70 off! So, I did stop on my way home from work and got one. Oh, happy day! :D
I went to Sears and got there 19 volt or something like that drill that is normally $119 for $39 for Joe. And I stopped at Walgreens and bought Xmas wrapping paper for buy 1 and get 2 free. Other than that I sat in the car while my sister went in and shopped. (My energy was totally wiped out.) Oh and then she and I did lunch and now at home watching the LSU football game.
I did ALL my Christmas shopping this morning. I was at Kohls at 4 AM and home by 6:15. Grabbed a cart and flew through the store. I got lots of household "stuff", Christmas decorations, and clothing. They really were great deals.

On top of that I had a 15% off coupon on my entire purchse. GOTTA LOVE IT. Nothing REALLY exciting. I was going to go to Target for the HDTV they had on sale but by the time I finished Kohls the crowds were starting to gather.

So I came home and finished my shopping on the internet.

My daughter wanted a ZUNE (some kind of ipod), I found one onsale at Best Buy for $99.00, it has 30GB and sells for $199, the brown was on sale for $99.00 (the other colors were full price). I thought that was a pretty good deal.

So I am done, except for Doug's Mother..........
I hate to shop for the most part.
I bought my mother new chairs for the breakfast table in August - check her off.
The daughter wants a cat for company - she kows that she has no business with a dog right now. We found one that I can pick up next week. We bought cat supplies on wednesday. Should I mention that I want one of the kittens too?
Order a frame print for a brother-in-law. It arrives next week.

The rest of my shopping will be done right after school gets out, when the stores are quieter.

Football yesterday. Football today. Football tomorrow. So far, the games have been full of good football.
I am in my post Black Friday shopping fog. My sister and I drove 45 minutes to be at Toys R us for 5am this morning, the alarm went off at 3:30! My youngest niece was so easy to shop for since she's 6 months old, the older ones get tougher every year and more expensive!
I splurged and bought one of the LCD TV's that were on special at Sears for myself. My sister, aka my partner in crime, bought me a Coach purse and I got to bring it home today! We have decided to tell my brother in law when the credit card statement comes that the Coach store is a new sporting goods store that opened in the mall
I wanted to get my parents a cheap computer, but it took 45 minutes to check out at ToysRUs, and by the time we got to Walmart-nothing :( Every store this year, completely impossible to get near the electronics dept.
Oh well, I am home now and plan on snuggling with Finney and watching the chick flick marathon on Oxygen this weekend.
All I did today was get a manicure :D
