1 or 2 speed clippers

What is the difference, between 1 or 2 speed clippers? Is one better than the other? I want to buy my own pair and would like to make a good decision since they aren't cheap. Thank you Nici

I'm not 100% sure, but it could have something to do with the length of the hair after it is clipped... I know on people clippers that the guards have specific numbers for how long you want to leave the hair- a #1 cut is very very short, a #2 is a little longer... I'm not sure if that has to do with SPEED though, that kinda throws me...
The speed on mine is just how fast they go. Zoe does not like the noise on the higher one. So we took it nice and slow-on slow.
I use the higher speed to zip through the long stretches and the slower speed to work around tight curves and delicate areas. I agree, they don't like the higher pitch of the faster speed. Remember, don't skimp on the accessories. I love the blade wash as it clears the tiny hair most quickly and helps cool the blade. In fact have several blades as they get hot and can burn the pupper. (I've heard some people put the extras in the freezer while they are working on the dog to help cool the blade faster. As long as they don't freeze and seize up........sounds OK)
