A reason to watch the dog show on Thanksgiving
Well, everybody needs to watch the show this time because this year's OES Best of Breed is TOBY!!!!! Yup, Toby and I took Best of Breed yesterday at the show. We went to Group but didn't do anything there. Toby decided to cough on our go around and then to sit down during the final look from the judge.  So we may very well be one of the "Dogs that showed during the break" shots but you never know!!
There are also 2 possible shots of people mobbing Toby when he was on the grooming table and him licking them like crazy and a shot of me grooming him. So, tune in on Thanksgiving day, noon on NBC. The show starts immediately following the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade!! |

LOL! Ya gotta love that Toby!!  Hearing this makes me remember the video that Jill posted about the agility course in MI - he definitely has a mind of his own!!

| All I can say was that it was fun watching Mr Peterman (John O'Hurley ) watching Mandy do the up & back.
Philly KC is a blast but is also very tiring. We got there about 8 am and didn't leave until around 5:30 or so as it's a benched show. Seemed like we met a lot more OES owners than previous years which is always fun! Toby was LOVING all of the constant attention and if too many people walked by him without petting him he would bark at them. |

When you win the breed you have to fill out a paper that tells who you are and what accomplishments your dog has had. I listed that Toby made a complete fool of himself at this year's National by only completing one jump but 4 full laps around the course and that video was available. Anything for more airtime!! |

I don't believe Quincy was there. (I didn't see Ernesto all day either, so I'm not sure if he was there although his assistants were.) Some firefighter guy from NJ won as an owner handler with his Kom. You'll still have to tune to see what he's wearing... Deb |

This is so awesome! I hope I don't have a dumb blonde moment and forget to tape it. If not then I am going to make everyone in the family watch Toby since I made them watch Jill's video of Toby doing agility at Nationals. (Sorry Mandy - I used it as a "Harry as he was 5 weeks before" demonstration so that they would know we were improving  ) Now I can show them what Toby excelled at Although it might be fun to watch the Nationals tape again so they can appreciate him that much more.

About agility, I did this with my Dallas and he did everything perfect during practice, but once we did the real thing, he had to act the clown LOL As I always say, the circus has a clown for fun and Agility has an OES that makes people laugh. They are just such people dogs and the more people are watching the more they have to show off |
| Mandy, you and Toby looked great! I really love your hair cut. I so wished that Toby would have won, but the Australian Shepherd did so I was happy about that since China is an Aussie Shepherd. It was fun watching the show and looking for you and Toby. |

Joan and I (and Mulligan) were alone in our hotel room when we saw her, but we were in the lobby of the hotel when the group came on. When I saw they had skipped Mandy and Toby, I was cursing (not cussing!) at the set and grousing about them cutting them out, that a guy came over to the lounge area and started asking if Mulligan was in or cut from the show!
So what could we do? I gave him my autograph and Mulligan licked his hand. |
| Man I was ticked that they got cut. After I realized we weren't

| 3rd year in a row that the OES got cut out of the telecast. Maybe we should all write NBC to voice our objections. When I heard there were 2 new AKC dogs in the herding group this year I figured they would be highlighted. Also our boy Pete got cut out with his Collie too.
So how come nobody recognized the kennel help (me) behind Mandy along the barrier? Also, if you watched the terrier group, that was Haggis' dad (Norfolk Terrier) on TV. John Hurley was sure had some wacky commentary this year. |
| 1) I was too busy trying to see the sheepdog!
2) I thought it looked an awful lot like Haggis!!!! 3) John thinks he is funny and witty... Maybe needs to realize that "J. Peterman" had writers. Joan tells me she is having a tremendous amount of difficulty getting through his book (I think she is referring to his second-most recent "tome.") |
Thanks for sharing the link. I had been watching the show starting at 12:30 central time while warming up our food. I believe I saw Mandy grooming Toby. I was so excited! My Mom came in and she was glued to the tv waiting for the sheepie. Then my inlaws came in and MIL couldn't understand why we would be watching a dog show instead of speaking to her  I missed Mandy and Toby show |
