Anyone have any experience with doggie diapers?

I guess I'm about to find out...my poor Stella has constant urinary tract infections because of the diabetes...we've tried all of the antibiotics and they don't work.
She leaks a little all of the time but sometimes she really lets loose...she is doing great on the insulin and this is the only problem we have.
I'm just thinking she will try to chew off the diaper....I have no experience with this....has anyone here dealt with this?

Yes, Splash wore a diaper for several years. I found a "belt" shaped like a letter "H". The center bar is where we'd place the incontinence pad. The one upright wrapped around her waist, attached with velcro. The other bar wrapped around each upper leg and attached "somewhere" with velcro. Sorry I don't remember where :?

She never missed a beat, took to the pad and belt and since it was denim it blended in with her coat. In fact if she were in longer hair and brushed out, the belt was all but hidden. I had several belts because sometimes the pad would get so soaked, there's be some leakage.

I know there are doggie diapers now available......give your dog the benefit of the doubt, some accept it readily instead of soiling themselves. Just remember you have to bathe the area carefully several times a day as they can get diaper rash.

I'd put a pad inside these: http://www.petdiapers.com/diaper/
My Chumley is incontinent and I often have her wear Depends. She doesn't chew them off or even pay attention but when it is full, it just falls off her. I think the weight just pulls it down and then she steps out of them. She seems to be in-between sizes and so the fit is just not that secure.
Poor Stella! Like Sheepieboss we use a denim "wrap" for Max- with the pad inserts. We tried the diapers- and they JUST didn't get it. He has had no objection whatsoever to the wraps-- he sill back up and wait for us to put them on-- no problems. As Sheepieboss said- keep the area clean and dry. At first Max's "area" seemed a bit irritated- but quickly adjusted - I use a powder when he is without a pad- to dry him up a bit!

These wraps are lifesavers for us. We can still enjoy Max- without getting our feet peed on all the time! :)
I put Drez in the smallest Depends available. Even the largest doggie diapers are too small for her. And I also have one of those denim covers that I put over the diaper. She hasn't walked out of them yet, but her hips are so bad that she doesn't get up TO walk out of them.
I have just started a new business called doggiedrawers.com. I make Diva Drawers (when the heat is on) and Dribble Drawers (when bladder control is gone). They are custom made to fit your pet. I show a variety of colors and fabrics on my website. I have not sewn drawers for a sheepdog. My biggest dog so far was an 80lb. lab. She looked adorable in her camo with black fringe! They are made from a super soft baby diaper and they open and close with velcro across the back. Please check out my website. My drawers put the "fun" in functional!
